I ain't clickin' on THAT.

****

One of my bug stories comes from when I lived in the Mojave Desert for a time. Having changed into my lounge wear of shorts and a tank top after work, I went for a brief respite on the porcelain throne.

A couple moments later I noticed a creature a couple inches away from my un-shod foot(this was before cell phones). I called out to Mrs. Kit with a question.

"Babe? If you saw a scorpion, what do you think would be the best way to kill it?"

She immediately understood the situation. Cause she's smart. A moment later, the door cracked open and she handed me a rolled up newspaper.

Problem solved, problem staying solved!

When we lived there, we had a rescue cat that would kill scorpions in the house and never get hurt. That cat killed a LOT of scorpions. Lived to almost 20 and died last year.

I have a funny black widow spider story from Arizona, but I'll save that for another time.

Also in line with the Great Awakening is a book I’ll recommend describing the religious heritage of the United States.

“What Hath God Wrought” by William P. Grady.

My preacher in Texas handed me this book back around ought one (hat tip to those who remember hearing about the “oughts” from our grandparents. The “oughts” for this century is gone. You can’t say ‘ought nineteen’).

The premise is that God’s hand was on this country from before it was a country.

I can’t help but think that this country is unlike any in human history. We must stand strong and uphold the values of equality (no matter what race or heritage), godliness, thanksgiving, charity.

I’m going one better. I moved to a house out in the “country” outside of Pecos, Texas,

The first morning there, there were three scorpions , one on the wall of the kitchen and two in the living room, above the door and on the wall by the sofa respectively. Looking outside the window to the side lawn, I saw a trap door raise and entry of two tarantulas on the lawn.

In the spare room, and the bedroom I slept in were weird centipede type bugs, but not centipedes, just reminiscent of them. They were everywhere, if I’d have had the Internet then I’d have looked them up...

Yes, I broke the lease and left that awfull place.

We lived in AZ upon a time and saw the cat stung in the face by a scorpion with no ill effects. We’d regularly find dismembered scorpion parts by her good and water bowls...
