Not arguing, just asking.
The last concert I went to in September 2017 was Bob Seger in Boston. Seger’s crowds are almost always older and tame these days.
I know several members of the band so I always get side seats just off the stage where the bands family sits. Thankfully there are no floor & view issues with these seats.
Before the last show, I was standing near a stage door with one of Seger’s backup singers and we both noticed how young the policemen looked who were patrolling the area....young as in looking like kids, lol.

Well Fleetwood Mac had been around for years before picking up Buckingham and Nicks, but certainly gained a wider following with them.
The HA's stopped the deranged nut case in front of the stage who was pointing and waving around a gun around. The HA who killed the suspect with a knife was acquitted.

Forget their soft-rock. It was a required taste. Listen to "Go Your Own Way" a couple of times at loud volume. It stands up to many of the best same tempo rock songs. Buckingham's intro and bridge is very melodic as the band gets louder. Fleetwood's drumming is unimpressive as is many Stone classics with Charlie Watts. However, they both seem to realize that less is more sometimes. As a drummer, I've long known what the best fills are for a song to work with the bass and the feel of the song. So many of the Big Hair bands of the 80's would overdo their style. Of course, they had their giant kits so they had to show them off.
Think Honky Tonk Woman beginning - argueably the most recognized classic rock intro. It starts with Watts snare tap then full note space and quick toe(tom),dump(bass). If that doesn't make since try: smack....ta dump.The rest of his drumming was simple with simple fills. Then you have the intro to Gimme Shelter which I believe the best rock into ever. When Watts comes in with the guitars all you get is chunca, chunca, chunca, chunca - a mix of snare, tom, and base.
Or think Led Zepplin "Whole Lotta Love". The best drummer at that time Bonham did a simple alternating stick snare lead in from verses. Da,da,da,da,da,da,da,da,da ... dada dada bump with John Paul Jone's bass coming in on the first dada bass bump. It still stands up.
Spend 300 bucks on a totally nonessential item.
Then bitch about their financial worries and its all (someone elses) fault.
$100 & up for a ticket to see a 1st rate act is pretty typical . Depends on the venue a bit. If you have an outdoor football stadium and you don’t mind sitting in the furthest nosebleed section you might find something cheaper.
So yeah, people get a bit grumpy when they can’t see anything.
I guess it was integral to the story for the author to insult the President./sarc

Saw them live at Dodger Stadium, with Linda Ronsdadt and Jerry Brown in tow. It was back when they were dating!

Don’t mean to be critical, but there are no entertainers on the planet, and there never have been, who could tempt me to spend $250 for a pair of concert tickets, even though at my income level that price is actually chump change.
Understood. It’s a free-country and to each his own. I don’t do it often because it is so expensive.
AVERAGE pop music ticket prices are close to $100. A modestly popular group like the Superbowl’s Maroon 5 is getting an average of $180 per ticket.
In fact, if that double-album had been condensed into a single album by cutting some of the experimental tracks - and adding "Silver Springs", a standout track that was dropped from Rumours - the album would have been another monster seller.
Then again, I'm pretty much obsessed with Stevie Nicks so I'm a little biased here.
I think it was panned because it was a new soft-rock sound when Disco was still on the charts and New Wave was emerging in the late 70's. Plus the hard rockers were dying out until their comeback in the 80's.
I hate Tush. They purposely made it to sound like a marching band. They even had a college band come down the isles in some concert or awards show. Chain is awesome, Gypsy is okay but not compared to Nick's Rhiannon. Love it or hate, it is a classic.
The best song on Rumours was "Go Your Own Way". It was a total RnR song with great riffs from Buckingham. I have it on a bestof thumb drive and play it all the time. Just turn the volume up and you'll appreciate the rocker it is. If you can't turn it up on home speakers, just get some good earphones. You'll be amazed at what you didn't hear before.
