TEXARKANA, Ark. A 19-year-old Arkansas man has pleaded guilty to trying to steal a commercial plane so he could fly to Chicago to attend a rap concert.
The Texarkana Gazette reports that Zemarcuis Scott of Texarkana pleaded guilty...
Authorities have said Scott was found July 4 inside the cockpit of an American Eagle jet at Texarkana Regional Airport and that he had hoped to fly to an out-of-state concert.
He has no training as a pilot. Police have said he told investigators he thought piloting the plane would involve little more than pushing buttons and pulling levers.

If I recall correctly, this one didn’t have missiles being that was in Southwest Canada at an airshow, but if it did, I think common sense would of failed that day heh.
Speaking of stealing a fighter plane:
What little (which was very little) I ever saw of “JAG” had some sort of bad guys stealing an F-14 to shoot down the plane of “President” Yasser Arafat.
I never even tried watching again after I saw that one....
What’s between that 10 and that 1?
Looks like he’s got more than $17!!!
I’m thinking that’s another $10 bill! Could be $27! Now THAT’S gangsta!
And therein lay my moment of dread. For all the flapping tassels on the handlebar grips and clacking of playing cards on the spokes, I realized at that last micro-second of pre-impact, that none of it was going to change my trajectory, altitude, or speed. Everything after that was a wind-sucking, lung-collapsing swirl of stars in my eyes and the taste of dirt in my mouth. The ramp got chucked over the side of the hill and into the trees, and I never got on a bike again until my parents got me this thing called a ‘ten-speed’ at Christmas. I was a little better at that. Being a mountain boy, I decided that staying attached to the ground in some fashion was God’s way of pre-ordaining my place in the cosmic pecking order.
Everyone uses the term pleaded guilty but should it be plead guilty?
Abbotsford 86 was one of my all time favorite air shows. Concorde, Harrier, SR-71. Also a mid-flight airframe failure on an airobatic monoplane (but the pilot got it down safely). Also Everett around 91 when the Russians brought the SU27, MIG 29 (I think I have that right) and the An-225.
Sounds like some great propaganda there.
I watched one where a kid stole an F-16 and went to save his dad from some Arab crap hole. It looked quite believable.
Sorry, I’m trying to keep a straight face, but I can’t.
Should have let him finish the job. He wouldn’t have left the airport
[Sounds like some great propaganda there.]
Yep.
Donald P. Bellisario must have gone completely off the deep end.
Apparently he had a fondness for this Islamic terrorist.
I was 11, but I was there too. That was a good one. I was a bit young to fully appreciate some of it, but I still had done a lot of homework on my own. I could tell you weights of planes loaded and unloaded. I could tell you thrust per engine, thrust vs weight ratios etc.
In 89 there the Russians made their first appearance in the west there. Well, that’s what they told us anyways. It was comical watching the guys in funny clothes with expensive photography gear try to pretend they were tourists. They might as well have worn signs that said “I am a spy”. Lol.
I used to like hanging around deception pass too. The navy jets were always at it.
Islamic terrorist?
You must like typing so be so redundant heh.
hehe....
My roommate flew us (me, him and our girlfriends) to Catalina. After we took off on the return trip with the goyls in the back he said “Would you like to try flying this?”, “Sure!” He didn’t know I’d done this a whopping once before.
Bank left, bank right, climb, dive, level out. “Pretty easy.”
The SOB had me fly it all the way back to Cable field near Pomona, including the descent to about 50-100 ft off the deck before he took over. He handled the radio, fed me the bearings and altitudes to maintain, and did most of the see part of see and be seen. When we got close to landing I was convinced he was going to let me bounce it all the way down the runway!
We get out of the plane and I nearly collapse, the goyls look at him and said “What’s the matter with him?” “Oh nothing, he just flew all the way back from Catalina...” “He WHAT????”
They both turned a whiter shade of pale!

Hahahaha...that downright made me laugh!
Ah, the inability of many of us as young boys to look more than a nanosecond into the future, and only in retrospect, look back and say “Well, I’m not doing THAT again!”
“BTW, how hard can it be to fly a 737 or similar jetliner, you just enter your destination data, push autopilot and hit enter, right?”
You’re right! At the end of the movie Otto taxied off on the wheel struts (or was it the belly?).
