There’s an arrest recorded for him on my local PD’s website. The charge was “assault on a child under 12.”
Then, even without that context, I defended the guy's action - irrespective of the age and sex of the mob - as clearly in keeping with the traditional values of the America I grew up in: When "kids" never dared to to physically attack an adult because they would only expect such a overwhelming physical response.
It is now early in this story, when the media always spins their gentle-giant Michael Brown, choirboy Trevon Martin or rape-victim Crystal Mangum PC myths to fool a gullible public. I am glad to wait for the complete and real story to leak out - rather than jump and dance to the tune the propaganda media always plays with a partial, skewed or fabricated "facts."
In the mean time, I am honored to have my "character" questioned by bleeding-heart so called conservatives - who are the ones who don't have the stomach to deal with the predators (foreign and domestic) that are destroying this country. That is always the last resort of the likes of Jeb, Romney, Flake.....

I give T.D. a little credit here, he didn't go to this lower level. He's been a little trollish on this thread, but when tempers flare words can be said. That noted, on the whole, I haven't seen a lot of trollish behavior from T.D. My radar is not going off.

You keep changing the requirements to fit your narrative. You even went as low as trying to prove your case using child soldiers from the Sudan and some 12 year old boy using a bat. Neither scenario applies here.

Actually, my narrative is rock-solid and demonstrated by my examples. In a single sentence, my narrative is that even children of 11 and 12 years of age can (and do) kill. This observation is pertinent in this situation.

I agree he escalated too far, but the gang of girls, particularly the primary aggressor, should face justice for provoking the entire violent encounter. The reason she was not arrested is that children are often (and erroneously, to my mind) given passes for behaviors an adult would be arrested for. When it comes to provoking violent confrontation, this is doubly-true.
His overreaction conceded, I still say she tried to grab the bull and instead got the horns.

Exactly, that has always been the case since forever, when you are 18, you should KNOW better. If we applied the law strictly to children that we do to adults, a large majority will be in prison before they are 14. I don’t think that benefits society either.
He was 51, he should know better then to do what he did. I said earlier, he should have avoided the group and just walked by. He had ZERO to gain by confronting them. He is the one with the arrest, he is the one who now will spend the next two years in court, and possibly 3-5 years in jail. The jury will only see the part where he knocks her lights out, because in reality, that is all that really matters to the law. (Even the whole video doesn’t help this guy’s case)
The law focuses on what DID happen, and less on what MIGHT happen.
