So is Durbin. When he was a heartland Illinois Rep to the U.S. Congress, he was a “devout” Roman Catholic.
He got to running for Senate and had an “epiphany”.

It is amazing how a little bit of blackmail and some cash will cause some to become so flexible in their spiritual belief system and morals.
I went and checked and I was wrong....Durbin was Pro Life then changed in 1989.
He didn’t get elected to the Sen. until 1996 taking office in 1997.
So his “enlightenment” didn’t happen because of his run for Senate.
