I hope the lady in front of me at the checkout last month knows this so she's not buying cart of crab legs and shrimp this month. She may have to make that card stretch a bit.
Almost every time I go to the store I buy something extra for the pantry. Bag of Beans or Rice. Couple of boxes of salt or sugar. When we use an item or open something-like a jar of peanut butter, we write it on the grocery list.
Then we buy one to replace and one to stock the pantry-did this until our pantry was stocked up pretty good. Now we just replace most stuff, but anything that lasts forever-goes on the its cheap, lets stock some more list.

Yeah, I was pizzed after watching someone taking all the frozen shrimp in one cart, while I was hoping to celebrate with the 1 pound bag for $10.
