Except for cottonwoods...useless as a living tree and useless as a dead tree.

In plenty of places between I-35 and the rockies, cottonwoods are often the only tree you get that doesn't look like a glorified shrub. I love a stately old cottonwood- as long as it is on a neighbor's property, far enough away that it won't drop a limb on anything of mine.

Now Norway maples...

It’s sunny and 85 degrees in late May. So why does my neighborhood look like it is in the middle of a major snow storm?

I hate running from Des Moines to Denver...BORING!

But, the worst stretch of road is US285NB between Roswell New Mexico and Albuquerque (act, Clines Corners). Head-nod country right there.

I swear the NM state tree should be the Bull Thistle.
