The Dexter Manley case was one egregious example. I’d be curious what percentage of the football factory team members cannot read at an 8th grade level. My guess is the number would shock me. This is why I advocate for a legitimate minor league. Might teach the players a little humility too. I know there are players who academically excel. Guess what, they’d still play college ball, because they desire the education.
Hope Saban's blood pressure holds up!
There is a method to it I guess
Compare to Tom Landry..lol
Saban is like Lombardi.....but his players worship him
Lord you know they dont want to disappoint him
For many hes their first adult male authority figure of consequence and I think most appreciate it
You can be Saban or you can be Obregon
Diff styles and both can work
Universities should offer vocational programs. If after 4-5 years an athlete doesn't make pro, they will have several marketable trades under their belt.
The players were cutting up on Twitter about it last night. And during the post game presser, Saban and the players with him were laughing about it.
I would have thrown in Louisville and Ole Miss too, but I didn’t want to appear to be piling on.
That would be an excellent idea. But the pointy-headed academics in charge would say that is against the “mission” of the school. Wouldn’t want the students to learn anything useful. I would make it where a player is ineligible if he’s taking non-credit remedial courses. Pass those then you can play.
I'm an Alabama fan and I agree with you.
Alabama is lucky to have won the last two games against Georgia.
I also think Oklahoma could have beaten Clemson.
I agree. Should have been Georgia.
Georgia would have beaten everyone and (maybe) Alabama this time.
BTW - Roll Tide -
As usual, the national championship was determined by the SEC championship game.
This is just a formality.

Q: What is the difference between Notre Dame and Lucky Charms?
A: Lucky Charms belongs in a bowl.
Did you not detect the dripping sarcasm in my #9?
No, cuz I took them in a pool getting 13. Your sarcasm was probably good, in my grief I couldn’t see it.
Gotcha, brother.
Good point. Allendale sounds like the typical liberal wuss who never played a sport in his life.
That’s A Good One!!!
