Very true! I just find the preoccupation with sports in this country, particularly professional sports if they can be called that, a narcotic to be avoided. People who make their living as “players,” contribute nothing to the growth of our country. And today, they consume taxpayer resources that should be directed to more worthy investments. Colleges and Universities should be places of higher learning, not farm teams for the NFL, NBA and MLB. Set up a trade school or two if you really need “athletes!”

You’re clueless. The Alabama football program has changed the entire school in just 10 years. That program has brought in millions of dollars into the Academic portion of the school and has atracted top students from around the country.
I hate it when the refs decide who wins. The refs have decided Clemson wins. Very bad referring IMHO. But since everyone hates ND I guess bad ref calls are OK.
