Every year or two I try a couple of Linux distros and I tried again last week. I lost a few hours of my time that I’ll never get back.
Windows is still better in spite of its problems.
Amen. That city in Germany last millions in trying to use Linux as a desktop.
What problems do you run into?
Similar here at home (retired).
I have a Linux laptop with Mint 18/Cinnamon. I don’t so much real computing with it.
Last summer I purchased a Win10 tablet to try to get familiar with Win10. I am not sure whether it is the tablet — I also have an android tablet that acts similar — but it with shut down and take forever to restart. Any open programs are closed. It is more of an irritant than anything.
For serious computing, I still use my Win7 laptop and desktop, and older Windows programs — Publisher 98, Word 97, Excel 97, etc. I can open them and complete the task before figuring out the ribbon menu in the newer versions.
Also, a couple of weeks ago, the Win10 tablet upgraded 6 times in one day.
This day, I noticed it reverting to the sign-on screen numerous times. That had to mean an update and reboot.
Mostly, I just use it for a radio program to listen to talk radio. I don’t have a lot of trust in it to do much more.
