Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D.-Texas) took to the House floor on Dec. 12 to explain why, especially in the Christmas season, a shutdown of the federal government should be avoided.
“This is a season where many in our Nation draw together with families and worship and celebrate,” Jackson Lee said.
“It is a very honored time,” she said. “People of the Christian faith are engaged in the recognition and acknowledgment of the birth of baby Jesus. It is a holy time. It is a time when families need resources. Government workers need to ensure that their families are provided for, but also we must ensure that our government is provided for. I thank the Speaker-elect and the Democratic leader in the Senate, the other body, for recognizing that we do not want a shutdown.” …

As far as I know, there was not a representative next to the manger at the birth of Christ. So even bringing it up is a completely idiotic thing to do. Celebrating Christ’s birth has nothing to do with taxes, or the need to support a family. Anyone can hit a knee and thank God for the Messiah.

She’s better be careful. The Democratic leader in the Senate looks like he eats other people for breakfast.
Is the Senate or all of Congress still not back in session - meaning no action on the Senate approving the House bill with the wall funding in it?
Or will the GOP come back to town on Jan 2, call a quorum, have a vote in the Senate and clinch the deal with the wall finding? Nah - the RINOs are not that smart.
This is a typical democratic mentality. The citizens must provide that the government is provided for!
