Many of the newer docs have not really received
“preventative” training. They have received quite a lot of training on what meds to prescribe.
Diabetes is one that comes to mind. I won’t get on that soap box, but will mention one little note:
I myself, had an undiagnosed condition, for 20 years. The internet and I solved it and a surgeon fixed it. I have pics of the tumors which I showed to my doctor that I argued with for 3 years before he finally decided I had it right, and agreed to give me a referral.
Twelve docs and 20 years. They all went by the book - I bought a copy of the book from a Med school bookstore early on-so I know it didn’t teach the whole picture.

You mention many of the “newer” doctors - I fear many of them have been subjected only to training which the black hats were going to be imposing on us during the full flower of “ObamaCare.” I’ve already run into clinics which demand that you give them all your information UP FRONT before you are even given an appointment.
Oh greeneyes. I’m so very grateful you took charge of your own health and did the research and FINALLY got the appropriate assistance. The lack of proper training and the ignorance allowed of other valid approaches can be stunning.... and these things ought not to be.
