put a cup of water in with the sock. just on the side of it. 2-3 minutes.

I usually just heat mine for 1 minute without the water - have never had a fire, sometimes stack 2 one on top of the other for 2 minutes, and I’ve been doing it for 20 years -knock on wood. LOL
I am sure that is fine then!
Its a good-to-know low cost solution for a heat pack. I will see If I can give it a try!
