That's what we call "Begging the Question".
Another cadre of imbecile snowflake leftards writing about stuff they have no clue about. I’m sure these pukes will start running away at the sign of a campfire..
Don’t impose your culture on me!
Harvard should start their crusade by refusing to accept any money from white males.
Many fire departments recognize that their lack of diversity as a problem..”
It’s a feature, not a problem.
This battle was fought from trench to trench back in the 1980s and 1990s. Physical performance and upper-body strength standards were changed in fire departments all over the country, including FDNY, in order to enable more women to pass the entrance physical.
It’s all good. Non white male people groups are good at making fires.
The only reason I would be for it changing would be for females and mimorities having to risk tbeir lives for everyone else istead of overwhelmingly white males doing it and everyone irrationally hating them.
So yeah, lets let all the women and mimorities step up and put their lives on the line for everyone insgead of hating the white guys who are and hsve historically done so.
Stupid ingrates.
Every single day they find a new reason to be outraged.
Libtard socialists are required to create problems where none exist, because they cannot use the hegelian dialectic and control change the way they want it, without there being a problem.
Those acting most surprised are the same ones demanding Safe Spaces separating them from other races. When you influence a majority of minorities to not give a damn about anybody but their own race, this is what happens. Most of them have been trained not to care, or at least not to show evidence of any compassion for certain races and certain sexes.
Easy fix. Hire some white men who identify as black females.
Wheres the socialist libtard outrage because deaf people are not represented on the teams?
Or the blind?
Or the paralyzed and wheelchair bound?
Or the less intelligent?
There was some great diversity in an Academy Sports commercial (plus another one, forget who) that I saw today.
Everything but a white male. Nope, none of those. If there were, they were well-hidden or waaaaay in the back.
Which is O.K. I can NOT go where they don’t think I exist. Then their commercials can be oh-so-true.
Harvard Business Review complained about the lack of diversity in the firefighting business. >>>>>>>
What a bunch of a$$ hats at the HBR! Have any one of them EVER fought a forest fire? Its likely the most physically exhausting work any human can do, worse than being in combat by times.
And now they make a racial issue out of it?
I don’t care at all about the skin color of a forest fire fighter. If anyone is a dedicated forest fire fighter, they are in the super human category, regardless whether they are black , white, yellow, red, brown or effing purple.
I suspect that the majority of firefighters are white simply because anyone who is from an urban demographic like the majority of black folks are, likely wouldn’t be able to do the work, or have the woodland experience necessary to even attempt to do the work itself. Its not a “racist” issue.
who authored this “study”? Names and titles, please.
They could always do what the courts ordered Chicago to do. Hire, and promote, black and latino firemen ahead of whites. Then hire more whites to do the actual job of firefighting.
At fires, Chiefs and Captains turn over command to Lieutenants because Chiefs and Captains have no idea how to fight a fire.
How many women are fighting to become “Sanitation Engineers?”
If the departments are fair and equal regarding qualification for hiring and deployment (or in the case of volunteers for membership), I fail to see why "diversity"(whatever that is) is of any consideration whatsoever regarding function in the occupational specialty as defined.
hbr didn’t exactly say that. some academic said that, and was unfortunately cleared for publication by some editor who was having a bad day. hbr is a fine periodical. there is significant grousing in the comments section about how worthy (or not) that ridiculous article was for publication.
