If I had to live around the kalahari I’d dress the same way too.

Rmember, it’s racist to call this “nearly naked” and heteronormative homophobes might also be such haters as to call these people “men.”

Elaine was all set to knock off the Bushmen, except for that misunderstanding.

Bizarre but Interesting, I remember it from long ago.It was a light-hearted comedy. Very funny one, too.

Post 11: Movie link
Oops!! That wasn’t the original Gods Must Be Crazy, but rather what looks like a Chinese remake of it with their own actors and storyline. Might be pretty funny too.

I agree - thats nearly naked except in the minds of researchers blinded by political correctness.

When I was in the 4th grade, we learned about the Bushman and there were pictures of them in our textbook. I remember it well, though that was a VERY long time ago.
"Nearly naked" wasn't in that book; however, everything that is stated in this article was! So I find this article to be stunningly mendacious, at worst...truly stupid and uninformed at best, as 9 year olds, in NYC, in the 1950s knew everything she wrote!

Is there really such a thing as ‘nearly naked’?
Like ‘nearly’ pregnant? Either naked, or topless - I’m just sayin’

Same here, it was a great way to teach geography. Bet I learned more by accident by paging one of those magazines than kids do on purpose today.

Dress was an essential part of both material and social culture," says Viestad. She uses a broad definition of the term "dress." This covers both things worn on the body and things done to the body, such as tattoos, painting oneself, cutting patterns in the skin or applying scent. How is it the Europeans couldn't see that they were dressed! They described them as naked but that guy had tree sap on his face and that woman had a tattoo, didn't they see it?
