From what I have read, new members sometimes (always? I don’t know) have their initial comments checked first before they’re posted. It didn’t used to be that way years ago, but I have read more than a few comments about this.

I wouldn’t worry, and I’m sure it won’t happen for long, maybe it’s over now.

I guess to keep out bots and serious tomfoolery. Sometimes people managed to post porn photos before the mods could stop it, and then they’d have to delete stuff.
