Some people know how to make an entrance, while others specialize in exits.
On December 6th, 17-year old Jackson Racicot posted a video titled, How I quit my job today, on Facebook. As of today, the video has been viewed nearly 300,000 times.
The teen quit his job at the Walmart Grande Prairie Supercentre in Alberta, Canada, by reading a prepared speech into a store-wide intercom system, Insider reports.
Attention all shoppers, associates and management, I would like to say to all of you today that nobody should work here, ever, he said over the speakers. Our managers will make promises and never keep them.
During his remarks, Racicot noted that he has been working for Walmart for over a year and a half, and calls out his assistant manager for insulting him.
[Management] will preach to us about how they care about their employees but about a month ago, my boss, assistant manager Cora called me a waste of time, and management did nothing.

Truly the best laugh I have had in ages.
Thank you very much.
I don’t know of a single state that will pay for UNEMPLOYMENT when you QUIT.
Its a Walmart job.
He can find something, else, but perhaps not in retail.
Lots of adults complain about their job and their boss. Few ever have the guts to tell their boss to go hell and then quit.
No one said he was forced to work at Walmart.
It’s called an EBT Card with unlimited refills. I see them in this area, once in a while. And they’re apparently easy to get.
Looking back, he’s gonna figure out Wal-Mart was probably the best job he ever had...cause it sounds like he’s headed nowhere but down in his life.
The reason jobs are so dehumanizing today is because so many people are neutered and wimply. No pushback against tyrannical bosses and Big Brother employer tactics.
To hell with people who would hold this against a 17 year old forever.
While I'm at it, there is NOTHING dumber than bashing millennials out-of-hand. They, like us boomers, were at one time clueless about politics and the left/right war. We were lazy and worthless, just like the millennials, and many of us still are.
But a substantial portion of the clueless boomers became good conservatives.
But if conservatives keep bashing millenials, they will indeed become forever leftists.
Notice who doesn't bash the millenial age cohort just because they are young? Right, the left and the Rats.
Think about it.
In fact, Trump and Pence ought to have a Millenial Tour and go and rally about why Trump and MAGA are their best bet to restore and own the American Dream.
You are a disillusioned millennial? Come to Daddy. That's what Trump and Pence should be all about.
I work for a law firm that has its HQ in London and offices around the world. We ALL got an email a couple of weeks ago from a gal in one of the offices saying she’d been fired and bemoaning the maltreatment she’d rec’d. Immediately after we got an email from her boss saying, essentially: pay no attention to that email you just read. Pretty nuts.
It is the working conditions:
Can’t use the restroom until on an official break. Sometimes I worked six hours before I was allowed relief.
Store manager didn’t make necessary upgrades. We were using check out registers that were years old. Other stores had newer and he refused to invest the money. During August in Phoenix, AZ we had an air conditioner go out. It wasn’t until a customer passed out, he replaced it.
WM has a training program. It had modules one had to pass and progress until it was completed. It was difficult getting managers to allow me to get off the register and spend time completing the program. We were promised a one dollar an hour raise upon completion. There were times I had to wait 42 days in between completion of modules. Upon completion it was decided I wasn’t getting the one dollar an hour increase in pay just because my state passed minimum wage increase laws which surpassed what completion of the program would have bought me.
Checking ID for tobacco and alcohol.
Being screamed at by customers. I once had a customer who refused to let me grab the top of her soda bottle while scanning it.
Go backs.
Parents allowing their children to eat candy in the check out line and destroying the check out line.
All that for $9 an hour.
I’ll pass.
WM considers anyone who gets at least 32 hours of work full time. Most other employers consider 40 hours of work as full time.
Can’t purchase cigarettes at self check out.
Yeah, I would not want to do it. Luckily I don’t have to now. But did some real crummy jobs in HS and college.
Yeah, that makes sense. I guess same with prescription drugs. So I guess nearly all grocery items and probably most merchandise.
Like you say, an employee would be necessary for some things.
Do you think WM would have really listened to anything he said? LOL
I had 16 years in with the state of AZ and was laid off. Those who say that once you are with the gov’t you have a job forever lie.
I tried to get reinstated but because I had been making around 20 grand a year more than most of the jobs I was interviewing for at minimum pay wasn’t hired. Law required I keep my pay. Agencies weren’t willing to hire me because they couldn’t afford me in their budget.
I now work as a Direct Care Worker taking care of my husband.
The killer is: I pay for health insurance on my own. My plan is the cheapest that non medicare retirees with the state of Arizona offers and it is 800 a month.
My saving grace is my mother is well off and supports me. Do I like it, no but she understands.
Very sorry to hear that. I sincerely hope things improve for you.
Well, I guess THAT would explain where all the cashiers are ...
"Attention Walmart Shoppers: we are having a sale on freshly ground meat ..."
Can’t help but think of a 40+ year old box “boy” at Kroger. Poor fella. All he ever said was, “I hate this job” and “I hate Kroger” as he took groceries to the car. I don’t shop there anymore so I don’t know if he’s still around but apparently management didn’t care - the guy was always helpful but man, did he hate his job!!
