He says he has a job as a cook in a Greek restaurant, already lined up before he quit Walmart.
My daughter just quit as a department manager (children’s) for a Barnes and Noble branch.
Many people said that they would come to the store specifically so she could help them buy books. Kids would ask their mom to go to the bookstore to see her and buy books.
Yet, they kept putting her on the cash register or pouring coffee instead of doing her job, selling more books, often more books than the customer had planned on purchasing.
Was there any reason why the cook did that?
You seem to be under the impression that the kid was forced to work there.
Indeed.
Maybe he wanted to be head of scouting for Target.
It seems to me that he used the companys p.a. system to make an unauthorized statement speaking ill of the company, which millions have now seen. It seems to me that the company would have grounds to sue him for that (not that they would or should).
Good for you.
Was that cook Jesse Jackson?
Just wait until the RFID systems are fully implemented.
You won’t even be doing self-checkout. You’ll just walk out with your stuff.
If I were to hazard a guess, I say that it’s longsuffering Cora who has the real gripe against bad management. :)
Same at every WM I’m in. They really turn them off after 10pm around here. Just self-checkout, mostly.
You think what he did takes guts? I think it took a lack of brains.
Does that involve cancer causing death rays and does it simultaneously reveal your true gender?
He thought it was funny.
No just a loser.
Read about these systems in the very late 1990’s.
In 2007, I was watching TV when this commercial came on.

I have not seen them in the USA but there are various versions such as the thumb-print payment, but regular checkout.
They’ll get rid of all cashiers, eventually. End of that particular labor cost. Makes theft more difficult.
I have not encountered one of these systems in the USA yet.
Sounds like he was a sicko.
Many of us have probably walked off a job as teenagers but then we didn’t get 300K hits no Facebook blogs telling everyone about it. And employers do check social media connections nowadays. He’d a been better off just walking out and saying nothing.
What does a seventeen year old snowflake (this is how snowflakes act, create a big scene) after one year on the job know anyway? He sounds like a problem employee anyway.
At least theyre not systematically starved to death and executed. They now have a way to feed themselves and that only occurs because of US. So, yeah, Ill wave my American flag without guilt.
