Maison Hullibarger’s father tells the Detroit Free Press that he asked the priest to stop talking during the Dec. 8 funeral Mass. But Jeff Hullibarger says the Rev. Don LaCuesta continued giving a critical sermon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Temperance.

Hullibarger says some mourners left the church crying.

The archdiocese released a statement Thursday saying it’s sorry that an “unbearable situation was made even more difficult.” The archdiocese says LaCuesta will not preach at funerals “for the foreseeable future.”

In other words, the betrayers of the Church are not "the Church," and the infidelity of those who betray the Church does not cancel out God's fidelity. The Church is not the Mystical Body of Francisco Coccopalmerio or Ted McCarrick or Jorge Bergoglio, it's the Mystical Body of Christ.

Which would contract the RCs who denigrate the one true church as being the Mystical Body of Christ, since unlike the visible body, it always and only consists of true believers at any given time.

Except that certain papal teaching is that the Mystical Body of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church are one and the same thing, with the necessity of belonging to the true Church in order to gain eternal salvation, thus excluding those without.

Could you please re-word this? I don't see anything contracting, I don't see RC's denigrating the one truth church, etc. What are you talking about?

I am talking about the denial by RCs that the one true church is the Mystical Body of Christ as made up of all properly baptized believers in the risen Lord Jesus, including former RCs, now faithful evangelicals, versus the Mystical Body being the Catholic church, the two being one and the same, with true Church of Jesus Christ being the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Roman Church. And necessary to be part of for salvation, which schismatics and heretics (us by RC definition) are not part of, though souls who have an unconscious desire and longing to be part of her have a certain relationship with the Mystical Body.

Certainly the Mystical Body is not alone, being not without its visible manifestation, but your affirmation that the church is not the the Mystical Body of Jorge Bergoglio, but the Mystical Body of Christ, may sound like a broad affirmation of the Mystical Body as including born again believers in evangelical churches even who have formally separated from Rome, but this is contrary to what I see in certain papal teaching.

Doctrinally speaking (not individual cases), in the light of classic Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus teaching, where do you overall class former RCs as myself, who certainly know of the claims of Rome to be the necessary one true church, but objectively find them unwarranted in the light of the only wholly inspired substantive authoritative record of what the NT church believed?

Or is RC teaching on this cardinal issue too ambiguous?

This is what you believe. Ya could look it up. Try googling "Catechism of the Catholic Church," search word "Baptism". I dont h ave time to link it right now, because I'm off to Mass and anRCIA lesson, followed by singing at a Funeral Mass. But I'll be back later for the discussion.

Have a nice Saturday of the Third Week in Advent, my brother in Christ. Tagline

Once again this is not an answer to the question, and what I am asking is actually bases on Catholic teaching, yet which sees variant interpretations.

So once again i will twice ask you to answer a question, adding this one to the list what was already avoided being actually answered. I would advise you not to engage in attempts to defend Rome unless you will actually deal with these challenges.

Thanks for the sentiment, but I can say that I perceive very few RCs have actually become born again, while many RCs understand the CCC as exclude as being in Christ. such enlightened former RCs and reprovers of here as myself. And i actually think such RCs have the stronger case in the light of so much historical Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus decrees.
