Before google there was AltaVista and Excite among others. I now use duckduckgo, dogpile and bing (at work because duck is blocked there).

I don’t care that much about the privacy thing. I used to, until I counted the cost, listed the pros and cons and found that it’s not really all that important to me from that perspective.

Years ago, we surrendered ‘privacy’ for ‘anonymity’.

To those who doubt it? Look at all the cameras monitoring us as we walk and drive down the streets. Look at the GPS on your cell phone. If it can tell you where you are, ‘they’ can monitor where you are.
