I don’t give money to beggars because most of them are either alcoholics, drug addicts, mentally ill, or con artists. I also have been lied to by some of them.
I’ve got a system. If the guy has a good, plausible story I’ll give him $20, or whatever is in my wallet if it is less. I know I’m probably getting rooked, but God knows what I did.
If his story is not good, but I don’t think he’s lying and is hungry, he gets $5
If he makes demands, nothing.
“I dont give money to beggars because most of them are either alcoholics, drug addicts, mentally ill, or con artists.”
Yep.
The homeless are crapping all over working Americans and our families. Tents on the sidewalks, feces on the sidewalks, needles in the parks, women and children harassed in the cities. Now physical violence directed towards working people. Don’t feed the animals.
About 15 yrs ago, a woman approached me in downtown Akron and ask for money for her lunch, and I gave her $1. She told me that wasn’t enough she needed at least 5 for a lunch and she hadn’t eaten in a while. I told her to get a box of pop corn for 50 cents which I have done when low on money. Thank God she left me alone. I will never do it again.
No! Say it ain't so!
You are weakening my faith in the goodness of humanity! Please stop it!
Regards,
Also many make a living at begging who aren’t homeless at all.
A couple of nights ago, one hit me up for a short ride.
Clean cut and otherwise normal looking but had a bizarre reason and gave too many personal details up front that sounded odd.
I declined.
