You might think your hiding spot is safe, but burglars know your tricks.

Hide your cash up in the attic under some insulation works for me:-)
Oh snap! Just gave away my hidey spot:-)
Burglars seldom go into basements or attics.
They also don’t check children’s toys, toy boxes or dirty laundry in hampers.
“Try putting it in the tank, not the bowel. “
Hmmmm
Dang, I wish I would have thought of that. Thanks
I was surprised that wasn’t on the top ten list
Some of may favorites:
- Mayonaise jar lined with white paper in the fridge.
- Velveeta cheese box in pantry or fridge.
- Sealed container in the toilet tank.
- Concealed trap door in the floor.
- False top in built-ins or cabinets (that don’t go to your ceiling.
- Likewise, trap door in the bottom of built-ins or cabinets. Conceal the door with a shelf liner.
The septic tank is a good hiding place.
I hear that’s where 0bama’s hidden legacy has gone....
I had the opportunity to stand and chat with one of Rio Rancho’s finest the other day. We got to talking about the safety of our neighborhood and the few break ins we have had.
He saw that I have an alarm company’s sticker on my window. He asked if we actually turn it on, as most people who have alarms don’t actually arm them.
Then he saw our dog. He went on to tell us how in his over 10 years on the force he has yet to see a house with a dog burglarized by a stranger
As he put it, it is a target rich environment and there are easier targets.
He did say that the few times a house with a dog was broken into, there was something weird about it. It generally turns out that the robbery was either staged by the owner or it was a friend or family member who was known by the dog.
In short...get a dog.
Yeah, I noticed that too!
So now just put my cash in my purse and spend it—BEFORE I lose it.

Most of your suggestions are good. But I’ve read that the one above is a common drug-hiding place. It’s out of sight, yet easily accessible. So most burglars already know about it.
Yep, that's where Bosch (Amazon Prime) found the planted gun.
So did my husband’s parents and grandmother. We had to go through everything with a fine tooth comb. They had paper currency, including some from WWI, in books and old magazines and they had old pill bottles full of silver and gold coins hidden in the back corners of closets. What a mess!
The danger with “hiding places” is getting dotty with old age and forgetting. If you’re that worried about break-ins and theft, I’d suggest you have bigger problems than just where to hide valuables. Maybe address the break-ins and theft rather than trying to hide your valuables?
> that’s where Bosch (Amazon Prime) found the planted gun <
Come to think of it, a toilet tank is also where Michael Corleone hid the gun he used to kill those two guys in the Italian restaurant.
I suspect you are correct.
Kiestering your dough leads to the term "dirty money" ...

That’s a VERY important point (and you don’t have to be old to forget). It’s a shame FR doesn’t have a way to bump a post up to the top.
Yep, that's right.
In other words, your entire home.
