Have a decoy safe. Small and in one of those hiding places listed and relatively easy for someone to find. Bad guy thinks he got the stuff and hurries out. Gotta be quick about it! Best defense though is dogs. I have 3 and one who sounds like a 140 pounder and one who acts like Cujo.

Good idea. An old Mafia trick is to hide a lot of money underneath a little money. Burglar finds the small stash, moves on to look elsewhere.

How about we give 50 lashes for a first offense and death for a second burglary offense instead of coddling thieves?

Then we would not have to worry about hiding our stuff, or pay stupid taxes to hire millions of police and house millions of criminals.
