Some LEOs are over eager to put notches on their guns.
Through out history Law Enforcement has drawn some of the worst criminal types into its ranks. But fire must be fought with fire, the trick is keeping it under control.
This is a reason why ccw’s are not cops, or armed security guards, and shouldnt act like cops, cops will mow them down and figure it out later.
I dont carry for the general population, they have decided not to carry, they have made their personal choices. I am not a police officer and dont intend to play one, because there is no scenario that ends well for me in doing so.
The police retracted their initial statement blaming Bradford, but its still not clear whether he had a gun in his hand when shot. Thats about the only thing that might have given some explanation for the officers firing at him.
Reminds me, to some extent, of the early Stalin years... It might be the reason those-who-rule-us purchased about 2-billion rounds of ammo during the obunghole years... It's called "planning ahead"... A strategy that the communists have successfully employed for 100 years or so...
Not likely the “paid expert” would lie about the shot locations/entries for an early jump on the media.
The man killed by an officer who mistook him for a gunman at an Alabama mall was shot three times in the back.
How helpful of the media to water down the terminology in an effort to obfuscate the facts...
Lets see...
Active Shooter..
Young Black man observed(reported) running from the scene with gun in hand.
OFF DUTY cop sees YBM running from scene, gun in hand and engages him and takes him down.
So apparently the ‘Good Samaritan’ trying to help and the Off Duty Cop also in civvies???? are both lucky they didn’t get taken out when uniformed police arrived.
MY GUN is for MY protection and those immediately around me.
I am not there to protect your money, watch, jewelry, cell phone etc, IF POSSIBLE I will assist in saving your life BUT that will not include me running amok in a shopping center etc etc etc.
And if Police arrive on scene and you are holding a weapon and don’t have a BADGE, figure you are going in cuffs till the situation is sorted out.
IF he had his gun OUT in his hand, while he was pushing people “to safety”, to a police officer it could have looked like he was rounding up hostages.
If so, it would be reasonable to shoot him from behind.
Tragic, but reasonable. You might even argue that he couldn’t yell “stop, put your hands up”, because of the fear that the “gunman” would just start shooting his hostages.
I have no idea if the person had his gun out at the time. But as much as it is “legal” to have your gun out, at that point it may be the thing that causes a fatal mistake.
