Barging in for just a moment. But, I just have to say that Cilantro tastes like soap. The hot peppers are fine however.

Try reducing the cilantro to very few leaves (5?) and chop it. don’t crush it in the molcajete.

Noted. My observation is that cilantro is one of those things people either love or hate. I can't get enough of the stuff. Don't like the taste of soap tho.
i seem to be odd in that i don't like oregano or marjaram flavor. Just ick. I take the oils for health purposes but can't stand the taste.

I think cilantro’s taste depends on where grown and how cleaned and how thoroughly rinsed. LOL. I like it.

‘””””””
Read a while back that there are genetic components that result in your — and my — interpretation of cilantro as tasting like soap.
As for peppers — no, no, and no! Sets my mucosa on fire.
