In some ways, they are a typical political power couple seeking to “Make America Great Again.”
They are throwing a $5 million fund-raiser for President Trump this winter, and are quick to make it known that they have the president’s sons’ cellphone numbers on speed dial. They have poured more than $50,000 of their own money into supporting the president, who smiles in photos on the bookshelves of their home.
But Bill White and his husband, Bryan Eure, are not red state evangelicals or die-hard right-wingers. In fact, for years, they were key players among a cohort that Mr. Trump loathes: Manhattan’s liberal elite.(snip)
“He’s not a politician,” Mr. White, 51, said when asked to explain why he favors Mr. Trump. “He’s not going to configure himself as anything other than what he is. I think that he has an authenticity.”(snip)
The two men were not only longtime backers of left-wing causes, but firm supporters of Hillary Clinton who put their clout and cash behind her two White House bids. President Barack Obama was the guest of honor at a $39,500-a-plate truffle risotto fund-raiser dinner they hosted once in their Chelsea townhouse.(snip)
The couple say they have been condemned not just for hypocrisy, but for what has been seen as a betrayal of their own community, by backing a man who has scaled back L.G.B.T. protections.
They dismiss such concerns. “I don’t like identity politics,” Mr. Eure said.
As they have risen in the Trump pantheon to attending cocktail parties with Trump acolytes, they’ve lost friends, the couple said, from liberal politicians they once lavished with campaign contributions to a former employee of Mr. White’s who sent excoriating Twitter messages.
Their former allies offer a succinct view on who Mr. Eure and Mr. White are now: craven turncoats.

I do not agree with homosexuality as a concept, and I do not view it as a normal variant of sexuality.
I tend to view homosexuality as a “sexual peccadillo” which is their own business and between them and God if they believe. What a person does in the privacy of their own home is their business.
If it would only stay that way. But it hasn’t.
Where I have a problem is with the mainstreaming of homosexuality, the normalization of, the indoctrination of it, the endorsement of it, the celebration of it, and the construction of homosexuality into a protected political class.
That said, we should treat people as individuals with their own worth, even if we view them as having flaws, because we are all sinners and we all have flaws. In general, conservatives don’t view people as a “group” the way Leftists do, unless we are forced into it by issues such as illegal immigration where we are justified in grouping people together as lawbreakers if they are here illegally.
Personally, I judge people as individuals when I encounter them, and I treat people with default respect until it is clear through their words and actions that they are not deserving of that “default respect”.
Granted, these men would be unknown if it were not for their sexual preference, and if they are doing it to mainstream their sexual preference I would have an issue with that. If they were two men who had conservative views on many things and happened to be homosexual, I would treat them as conservatives.
I know there are many conservatives who think someone cannot be a homosexual and a conservative because they view those two things as at odds with each other, but I would take other things into account.
So, because a certain segment of society makes a parody of marriage makes it open season on marriage for everyong?

There are people who are gay, and there are gay people. The former is just one of many flaws humans have, many of whom are that way due to trauma. The latter, who define themselves by outrage and a sex-act, are the ones I take issue with.
BTW, didn’t people notice that Trump took a much more moderate view on these issues?
