I’ve been with my husband for eight years. We have no kids. For the past three, he has become increasingly alt-right and quite the Trump supporter. I’m very moderate in politics, but slightly left of centre. I like to follow the truth where it falls. But he will not allow for any kind of discourse or debate. He’s right, and I’m wrong. According to him, I’ve been brainwashed. It’s gotten to the point where I have left the house and am considering divorce. It has filtered into our relationship in too many ways. I’m not sure what to do.

Me too - all originally born in Canada to a Canadian mother and American father.
Three of us, myself, a brother and a sister, now live in the USA, and are all huge Trump supporters. The other four are scattered across Ontario and BC, and worship Justin Trudeau.
Sad, but we don’t talk much these days...

I suspect the same - when you see the term “Alt Right”, which hasn’t been used in more than 2 years now, you know something is up there.

Since there are no children involved, my advice to her is to seek a divorce and marry one of those devout Muslim guys over there in the UK. Not many support Trump so that issue would be resolved.
But beware, few solutions are perfect without some side-effects. One of which is taking an occasional beating by her new husband if she violates their marriage and commitment to the Muslim way of life. (Also, how ironic would it be that her new husband might be a closet Trump supporter.)
Since her political beliefs are left of center, she might consider this solution is better than the situation she presently has. OTOH, maybe hubby needs a apply a little more “grab’em by the pussy”.
Just trying to help but remember you get what you pay for.
I say, Have a few too many drinks and give him your best deep throat and swallow...then tell him if he wants more of these...stop talking about Trump! Otherwise, buy a pair of ear plugs........

This is the mop and pail. They probably made the story up. If true, I find most people think they are less liberal than they really are, so the lady is probably a Bernie supporter. In any case 8 years is a crucial point in any marriage where doubts do seep in and one starts to get past the honeymoon period and has to deal with personality conflicts.
In the end, life is so messy and complicated, I think politics is something a couple needs to put aside. My wife is moderately conservative but even so we cannot discuss certain topics. Just gets us way too mad. Well one topic. Homosexuals and other queers. So we jus don’t.
This lady needs to get over herself. Not everyone is going to agree with you lady. You can’t control people. You can’t make someone believe anything. If you keep it up none of your marriages will be successful.
