NFL Player Stands Above Protests, Shakes Each and Every Service Member’s Hand Before Game
Western Journal ^ | 11/14/18 | Cillian Zeal

It was, of course, Veteran’s Day weekend and NFL teams found various ways to commemorate. The 49ers had a line of men and women who are serving or have served our country in the armed forces. That was cool enough, but Kittle made sure that he honored each and every one of them with a handshake.

Nice to see someone from the 49ers — the team that started all this flag protest bullsh*t — actually doing something patriotic.

There are some good people in the NFL.
Unfortunately, the bad people suck all the oxygen out of the room.

There is still no way I will watch, since the kneelers are still in charge.

Agreed that this was a great thing to see happen; but I’m gone the BLM/NFL is dead to me and I am dead to them, so be it.

I’m the same. I just wish these athletes would keep their politics out of sports altogether.

George Kittle had a great college career, put up great numbers at the combine, then was drafted in the 5th round. Now he’s a leading tight end. 5th round? What was it they didn’t like about him? He didn’t lack size, strength, speed, or demonstrated ability against real competition. On paper he is better than several tight ends drafted ahead of him.

I mean, the NFL is a total meritocracy, where the pressure to win/make money is certainly higher than any other desire like social engineering. Yes, that’s sarcasm.

Since I have not followed the NFL for 25 years or more (after being a season ticket holder back in the mid-60s), I haven't a clue who George Kittle is, but I assumed by his name he wasn't a BLM kneeler. I looked up his image, and I was not surprised my guess was correct. Why other players didn't do the same is a shame on the NFL.

No! The NFL protest was never about veterans or the military. This was always a BLM anti-police protest. Those jerks can fawn over the military all they want, because their target is the law and the cops. I hope every one of them is in a dire emergency some day, calls the cops, and nobody answers their call.

He lacks a certain something that the NFL scouts and owners definitely want. It’s not talent (he has that), it’s not character (he seems to have that) ... I wonder how many go undrafted/unrecruited for the same reason.
