The number of flights being taken by the average person is increasing dramatically and the arrival of LCCs mean flying is more affordable for more people. Between 2005 and 2018 global passenger numbers more than doubled from around two billion to four billion and forecasts suggest that it could double again over the next 20 years. Is this growth manageable? One Norwegian politician believes that a cap should be placed on travellers, a seemingly impractical suggestion, but one that is sure to have support.
Summary:
As global air travel demand continues to rise, one Norwegian politician recommends a cap of 10 air journeys per year per citizen;
Norway is at the forefront of environmental protection where air travel is concerned and his views have received limited backing;
However, the proposition seems impractical but it will have its supporters, everywhere, not just in Norway.

I don’t support limitations. It’s a personal choice for me.
tell the major bands to stop touring the world.
They use 80 trailers per stage and some have 3 stages (one being constructed, one being dismantled, and one in current performance).
Cut the glut.
All of those video screens and sound systems, all of the fuel and “treasure”.
They are the ones who tell us WE must cut down on our footprint.
Crony Communist
I dont either but if the elite are going to limit the flights of the masses, to save the planet, well lets start with the elites.
The term “fossil fuel” is a marketing scam from Rockefeller.

I'm down with that until they have sat down in the corner and left the rest of us alone for a decade or so.
If only American journalists had these restrictions. Lol.
Set limit or allowance of flights per person, per month.
Those of us who don’t need to fly, can sell our flight on Ebay to the highest bidder.
Anyone, who thinks CO2 is a dangerous pollutant should be limited to one flights per decade, on any conveyance, no private plane exemption.
For a modest 1% of ticket price I will arrange for you to buy enough "flying credits" from people in third world countries that you will be able to spend the entire year in the air if you want. This will not result in anyone flying less but it will make you "flying neutral" and you can boast about how you are saving the planet with clouds of smug wafting off you.

RE: They need to shut down their oil pumps and get absolution and closure from the burden of all that guilt.
That is correct.
This topic was the life’s work of Cornell’s Dr. Thomas Gold and the basis of his book Deep Hot Biosphere.
Oil continually replenishes via hydrocarbon processes deep under the earth.
Oil is found under massive igneous rock formations miles under the earth where no ancient forest, dinosaurs, or seabed had previously ever been.
Oil, natural gas, methane are all natural byproducts of a deep hot biosphere.
We are not running out of those resources.
RE: The term fossil fuel is a marketing scam from a 1892 Standard Oil Rockefeller sponsored geological petrochemical conference.
