I just thought it would be useful to hear from fellow Freepers on this election day:
1. Did you vote in 2016? 2. Did you vote today? (if not why?) 3. Any useful observations?
Looks like they are dragging out the barely literate to cast their informed vote on a rainy, cold morning.
I have a friend who moved from up here in Washington down to Texas. She lives in a suburb of Austin. That gives you an idea of what her political leanings are. She posted to me this morning that she had heard that “many Republicans are jumping ship because of our president”. I’ll believe it when I see it.
I voted early in Nashville, Davidson Co, TN which is the blue lake in the middle of TN on 2016 election maps. Metro Nashville has 6 amendments to the Charter to vote on and it took forever for the unenlightened many that didnt read the sample ballot the election commission sends out 3 weeks before. Lines were long with all the reading going on inside. The first amendment was put on by a signature rally. It is designed to get the liberals out to vote. It states that Metro Nashville will establish an oversight committee which will review every suspected police confrontation with the public. We had a white cop shoot a black man earlier in the year. The libs dont like police investigating police. The last amendment was, get this, Metro Charter needs to change any reference to Councilman to council”person”. The life of a red living in a sea of blue.
And yes, I voted Republican on every race where there was one.
My husband and I just got back from voting in a leaning-conservative area of a heavily demoncratic county. Line was very long, voters seemed well distributed age-wise, of course, we have 3 different Maryjane proposals, so that brings ‘em out. Paper, fill in the circle, ballots.
Everyone was pretty quiet, so I couldn’t get a feeling as to red or blue.
Got in line at 8:55 a.m.,left the polling place at 9:55 a.m. Line was a same length as when we came in but I suspect it will increase to a 2-hour wait after lunch.
I agree about going to a polling place. Since I moved here, I always wonder if my ballot will be torn up and thrown in the garbage. If they don’t like who I voted for for example.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG Cawley where is this it looks like a Trump rally!!!!
I have skipped midterms in the past, but not this time. As the old saying goes, “I’d drag my b***s through nine miles of broken glass to vote against Kyrsten Sinema.” :)
Where is this taken, I wonder? Chinese characters on the building and all the people look Asian. This looks like a spoof to me.
Catwalk is Savanah a Dem stronghold ????
Lilfarmer is Savanah a Dem stronghold lines seem to be VERY LONG there!!!
Just finished voting an all Trumpian ticket meaning Republicans be they.....the good...the bad.. or the ugly. KEEP THE HOUSE!
How does this bisexual leftist loon get a shot a being a US Senator? She is one of this season's most disgusting candidates.
Oh I see she has been an Arizona Rep since 2013.
Sorry, I dont know much about Savannah, Im in N.GA
1. Did you vote in 2016? YES!!!!
2. Did you vote today? (if not why?) YES, I voted today!!!! (Hopefully, I got to send Claire the nursing home queen a ‘you are fired’ message.
3. Any useful observations? I was voter 1667 at 1:00 p.m. No way to know, IF the ‘pot’ ($0rr0$ backed policy across this nation) heads, were out in full force, since there are 3 different ‘pot’ measures on the ballot... or IF it is a ‘red wave’.
I voted about 2:00 here in western pa. Poll gals said it had been steady all day and more people than they generally see at a midterm election.
We’re a small rural type city so this is a good thing!
I got a fifth of each and we’re doing a taste test. Makers Mark is very good too. I’m not sure if either one stands out from each other. Jim Beam Black makes a good showing, but MM is a little smoother. Thanks.
