Does anybody in the know care to offer input?
This isn’t the exact GA commercial but it’s very close to it....

How awful. I had just heard a couple weeks ago about his father & sister being murdered. Now I learn that they were 2 separate events. What horrible luck for his family!
Hes got the same message on SQ 794 in OK.
Its a pointless amendment. Georgia law passed Marcys law last year. All those rights e its. No reason to put them in the state constitution
Actually it’s Florida Amendment 4 that’s airing.
Its florida. We have that amendment. Im voting no. Sorry grammer.
We see the same commercials here in FL.
As a family (I have 17 and 14 year old boys) we have been watching an episode or two of Cheers every night on Netflix (the kids love it). They got a kick out of seeing Kelsey Grammer in the TV ads - one didn’t realize that was Frasier.
Its called Marsys Law, and its currently part of the state constitution in five states and is being considered in six more Georgia, Florida, Virginia, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Nevada. This initiative was championed by Henry Nicholas, the sister of Marsy Nicholas, who was murdered in 1983 by her ex-boyfriend. That ex-boyfriend was released from jail and confronted his victim's family, who were unaware that he had been released.
While I sympathize with Grammer’s feelings on the issue, I still think that the amendment route is the wrong way to go about this or any other issue.
Amendments are attempts to skip around the legislative branch and government. It’s trying to skip around the elected officials whose job it is to represent their voters and the voters issues, and amendments are a form of direct democracy, and as we all know, direct democracy is not a winning format for governing.
If amendments and direct democracy are how the people wish to govern, then, let’s get rid of representative government.
He’s advertising the same message for Florida Amendment 6.
He is on TV here for an amendment ballot issue, too.
Yeh vote no on the first 3 amendments. You are on your own on #4. I still haven’t decided on that one. I think the heart of it is that if a victim does not press charges the DA can go ahead and charge a perp anyway.
