Why do so many people hate the Jewish people?

I seriously want to know, why do so many hate the Jewish people? I know they have since Bible times, which even reading it, I still don't get it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Well, you said that it doesn’t make sense that the enemy would still be targeting the Jews instead of Christians. But hate doesn’t make sense in that context.

For whatever reason, most likely because the Jews were God’s chosen people, Satan still has his sights set on the Jews.

While he knows Scripture, it appears that he doesn’t understand it to a degree. So perhaps he’s still trying to prevent the Messiah from coming. But he’s late to that party.

Perhaps it’s also connected to the second coming. Satan could not prevent the first coming of Christ, and he sure did try. But maybe he thinks that if he destroys the Jews, then the rest of Bible prophecy cannot come to pass.

Best answer so far. Jews were already scattered throughout the Roman Empire by the 2nd revolt. Contrary to popular belief Jews remained in Palestine after the destruction on the Temple. Hence the Palestinian Talmud. Anyway the church played on the claim Jews killed Christ. Accepted Gospels clearly exonerated The Romans lay the blame on the Jews. The Jews stayed to themselves as you noted but the real issue was in many communities they were the money lenders. The Church considered usury (charging interest) to be a sin but Jews had no such rules. They became the money lenders. Life was tough the Jews in Western Europe were generally better educated, and they made convenient scapegoats. However, keeping to themselves was not always voluntary laws prevented them from participating in all aspects of society. In Eastern Europe they were confined to the Pale or Ghettos. Whenever an excuses was need for something bad that happened, the local Christian leaders would blame the Jews and initiate a progrom. Burning looting and killing Jews was a good way to keep the populace from blaming and killing the Christian leaders. Accusations of blood libel, urinating on hosts i.e. the body of Christ all sorts of bizarre claims that were stilled believed into the last century. I read recently that a book the “Elders of Zion” was once more being widely read. That is frightening because it has been a source of antisemitic claims since Josef Stalin.

To expand even further, look at the history of Jews being denied the ability to go into more conventional jobs, to own land for farming, etc. They were forced to go into (or create) banking, retail, etc.

That there have been/are some Jews who are greedy, and are bad bankers is beyond doubt - as is the case with every single religious or ethnic group.

Really? On a holiday (Passover - the “Last Supper” was a Passover sedar) when no judgments were allowed, and with a crucifixtion, which was a typical Roman punishment (and one forbidden by Jewish law).

Besides, even IF ***SOME*** Jews 2,000 or so years ago killed Jesus, how are Jews today - some 60 - 70 generations later - guilty and deserving of being discriminated against, etc.? How do you think that Jesus would react to that?

Oh, and BTW, I’d love it if you could explain to everyone how a god can be killed, and also explain how someone is supposed to rise from the dead if they didn’t first, you know, DIE.
