The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the Queen and the Royal Family at the State Banquet for the King and Queen of the Netherlands on Tuesday night.
Kate wore a blue Alexander McQueen gown and the Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara, which once belonged to Princess Diana.
The diamond and pearl headpiece dates back to 1914, when Queen Mary commissioned the piece from Garrard. It was passed down to her granddaughter, the Queen, who then gave it to Princess Diana as a wedding present in 1981.
Kate teamed it with Princess Dianas Collingwood pearl and diamond drop earrings.
According to From Her Majestys Jewel Vault, the pearl and diamond necklace is part of Queen Alexandras Wedding Parure a gift from her husband Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (son of Queen Victoria and the future King Edward VII) in 1863.
Queen Mary gave the necklace to the Queen Mother, who wore it constantly.
The Duchess wore the Royal Family Order for a second time a personal gift from the Queen. The badge features an image of the Queen and Kates one is made of glass, not the traditional ivory.
Queen Maxima also wowed in the Stuart Tiara for the dinner.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands are on two day state visit to the UK.
They were welcomed by Her Majesty and the Prince of Wales, and received a Ceremonial Welcome on Horse Guards Parade on Tuesday morning.
During their busy first day, the King and Queen also visited Westminster Abbey to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior and the Houses of Parliament.
The last State Visit from the Netherlands was by Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus in November 1982.

Give it up.
The royalty are total PC socialist pro “diversity” Islam invasion.
They act for the ruling elite, just like always.
I enjoy looking at what Kate wears as I loved following Diana as she was exactly my age. I think it’s fun to see the historic jewels and old British traditions.
I’m assuming that you are both Americans, and DON’T live under a monarchy (?)
Unless you are globalist-minded ideologues who believe that you possess some superior intellectual or other right to determine another country’s form of government, I suggest you leave Britain and Europe alone; and tend to your own affairs.
House of Orange.
Those thrifty Brits.
They never throw anything away.
Lol.
I didn’t post this here.
Other countries of course can do what they want.
And they do. Monarchy, communism, fascism. All sorts if things
Well, fashions always return, with different ‘fillips’ here or there.
I think she looked lovely.
“some of us do like fairy tales, still. And some of us once had heritage among these.”
All true.
Kate sure did fit in to the whole royalty thing and she looks great in Diana’s “stuff”. I would hate to see Markel defile it; she’s such a low-class bimbo.
Yes, and people are responsible for their own governments. When they tire of them, they change them.
As far as I have seen, the Duchess of Sussex has conducted herself pretty well, so far.
Indeed. The monarchs do not wield the same political jurisdiction they once did anyway and certainly not over us. We as Americans can certainly appreciate their current role as ambassadors and as gatekeepers of European history, culture, and tradition.
She is a very good looking woman.
If you ever find yourself in Britain, be sure to go to the Tower of London and see the Crown Jewels. Absolutely amazing!
By the way, Koningin (Queen) Maxima has also had 3 children. All of them are older than Kate’s.
What do you think of how she looks?
I think Maxima looks great.
One other thing, King (Koning) Willem Alexander’s oldest daughter asked just before he was crowned King asked him, How long are you going to do this job?
