The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the Queen and the Royal Family at the State Banquet for the King and Queen of the Netherlands on Tuesday night.
Kate wore a blue Alexander McQueen gown and the Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara, which once belonged to Princess Diana.
The diamond and pearl headpiece dates back to 1914, when Queen Mary commissioned the piece from Garrard. It was passed down to her granddaughter, the Queen, who then gave it to Princess Diana as a wedding present in 1981.
Kate teamed it with Princess Dianas Collingwood pearl and diamond drop earrings.
According to From Her Majestys Jewel Vault, the pearl and diamond necklace is part of Queen Alexandras Wedding Parure a gift from her husband Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (son of Queen Victoria and the future King Edward VII) in 1863.
Queen Mary gave the necklace to the Queen Mother, who wore it constantly.
The Duchess wore the Royal Family Order for a second time a personal gift from the Queen. The badge features an image of the Queen and Kates one is made of glass, not the traditional ivory.
Queen Maxima also wowed in the Stuart Tiara for the dinner.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands are on two day state visit to the UK.
They were welcomed by Her Majesty and the Prince of Wales, and received a Ceremonial Welcome on Horse Guards Parade on Tuesday morning.
During their busy first day, the King and Queen also visited Westminster Abbey to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior and the Houses of Parliament.
The last State Visit from the Netherlands was by Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus in November 1982.

The current King’s father served in the 90th Panzergrenadier Division before surrendering to the Americans in World War II.
It’s one of their unifying symbols.
The Dutch royal family has never been some sort of autocrats, and are really well liked.
I love you.
Yeah, but it’s nonsense.
Don’t fool yourself. These “royals” aren’t standing up for anything.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
Freaky weird.
You’re suggesting a lot about a lot of individuals. Do you know all of them personally?
Are you the guy who beat up English Bob?
“The current Kings father served in the 90th Panzergrenadier Division before surrendering to the Americans in World War II.”
So did the poorest of the poor’s father.
So did some stupid leftists father.
I am referring to policy and concrete activities.
Yes, she DOES look stunning, especially after having had 3 kids!
To others, some of us do like fairy tales, still. And some of us once had heritage among these.
The governments that we’re discussing are parliamentary ones. Monarchs can advise and opine, but have little power over politics today. They are mostly figureheads, and their influence is limited to contributing a certain cohesiveness and continuity to the culture.
Which ‘policies and concrete activities’ are you blaming on a British or European monarch instead of on the government that actually runs the country?
+1
She looks stunning in Dianas vintage gown, but they should have taken the hem up a bit. Look how slim she is.
Kate looks beautiful. I remember that tiara.
I think it is just the tiara and earrings that were Diana’s....not the gown.
Haha! True! But, meow just the same.
You forgot about their main duty. Consuming tax dollars. Monarchs have no place in government unless your initials are JC.
All “royals” in Eurotrashland will be in exile and running from the muzzies within twenty years.
