Hello Freepers....!
....LOTS of threads about the mass of illegal immigrants headed our way...as of this morning the numbers are estimated at between 5,000 to 10,000 men women and children. We can assume that this number will grow.
Now, we can also assume that Mexico is not going to be of much help here...and will leave this event for the United States to 'clean up'.
So, they are coming....they will soon be at the boarder...and they will not just 'stop' voluntarily....
What CAN be done to keep this from becoming a nightmare scenario??
Please be civil...and make your thoughts known.
Please no (shoot them all)....(burn them all)...regardless of how you 'feel' try and come up with a WORKABLE solution.
Do not be intellectually lazy... like saying (.....dude...I would put the military at the boarder and just stop them....)
...ok, how? Shoot them....? Yell at them to stop?....Arrest 10,0000 people? ....and put them where? For how long?
Perhaps we can brainstorm together and offer some real solutions .....
Lets make this a thread that offers real possible answers

When people ask me about the Mexican illegal aliens, I just say that I am uncomfortable with being complicit with the Mexican ethnic cleansing by elite and wealthy Mexicans against their indigenous population. That certainly changes the conversation!
I use The Slavery Lite reason myself and it is useful re illegals here too. I use Victor Davis Hanson’s first hand eyewitness to the shantytowns all over CA where they live now without proper sanitation, electricity (often strung by nthemselves), no codes followed for safety or health, how they become indebted forever to their employers or coyotes, how the girls are tricked into prostitution after being promised restaurant jobs, even locked up in basements in downtown LA., etc.
But it is also very true that Mexico’s elite, actors, high level govt, DO NOT LOOK LIKE THE NATIVES that flood over here. Hoist the left on their own petards!

First I think FReepers are of above average intelligence generally speaking or else I wouldn’t bother to read replies.
Secondly, about the question you then pose about the caravan: it should be realized that this is little more than a stunt, played for cameras. I’m not sure why this stunt has become a “thing” in recent years, probably as an in-your-face type of defiance to Trump. Or maybe it was a genuine idea having nothing to do with him.
Regardless it’s just a tactic for show, and has little if any impact on real (illegal) immigration numbers. Consider the fact that as much as 2,500 people cross into our country illegally, on any given DAY, if you take the number in figure 1 of the following report as the “total”. It depends how one defines it of course; but even counting only the “got aways” (figure 3), it’s still about 600. Per DAY. So let’s compare that to this “caravan” in size. Let’s say it quadruples in size, to 40,000 individuals. That then represents just over a month (or two again depending how one defines the problem) of the illegal immigration problem *we already have*.
Also, taking a look at the aforementioned report again, even just casually, we can see the majority of the problem existed in the Bush years and early on in Obama’s presidency. I suppose it’s also a function of how the numbers were counted and/or calculated during all that time too, however to drop from 3,000,000 under Bush to just over 5,000,000 in 2016 can’t all be because books were cooked. There had to be at least some real drop.
This isn’t to exonerate Obama by any means, as we all know he didn’t count the “caught and released” in his term(s), although they were counted separately in the attached report. The point is though that illegal immigration, as much of a scourge as it is, isn’t nearly as bad as it is ginned up to be by any “side”. The problem is that illegals continue to be employed by small businesses (and larger corporations) this encouraging them to stay and also bring their families over. Also all the freebies courtesy Uncle Sam (free medical care, free education, section 8 housing) are costing us a fortune in unfunded liabilities, just for our people already much less for the growing illegal population.
Those are the real problems, and the ones coming now, again about 1,000 per day, and many gang related or otherwise “uncooth” individuals. The caravan is just a publicity stunt, not a real impact on the overall illegal immigration rate. So not worth the time “solving”, until/unless we tackle the real problems above by clamping down on illegal employment, socialized everting for these people (and ours) and throwing out the gangs and other criminals from every country.
It may be splitting hairs, but when does an illegal entry move from invasion to law enforcement, One minute, one day, one month, one year?
If a mob of invaders is still in the border zone, are they violators of law or invaders to be repelled?
I hope we're not back to the "one foot" rule of Cubans who wash up on our shores. I hope people are not accepting the argument that as long as the invading mob gets one foot inside the United States, it's law enforcement and not still border control.
There is a difference between rooting out a family who has been here illegally for years versus someone who is literally caught in the act. The act of actual invasion does not end once one gets both feet on this side of the border.

At this point, since none of these people are at the border, I would use it to wring the necks of Mexico and central America to force them to deal with it or cripple their economy. Ratchet it and suspend the ability of their people that are here to send money to Mexico or these other nations. Then I would start to cut them off diplomatically. Close the embassy there. Close the consulates here. Freeze the assets of those nations in the U.S.. Impose massive tariffs.
Basically I would not let this crisis go to waste.
The ones that still approach the border will be met by a security fence similar to what Hungary used at key points, manned by the armed forces that will utilize all weaponry (various riot control systems that have been employed overseas), short of live rounds, to fend them off. Those that may break through will be captured by a secondary line of troops that will NOT be there to escort them to anyplace other than awaiting troop transport planes that will then directly fly them back to their starting point. If any of those nations wish to see a penny ever again, they wont refuse us landing.
The cost of fuel will be extracted from the cut-off aid or from the assets seized.
From there I have the Geo-political situation I want. Troops on the border, aid cut off, and these nations at my mercy. From there this is when the serious border wall gets constructed with the troops there permanently, and negotiations start with Mexico to get a permanent security situation in place before diplomatic relations are normalized, trade resumes, and their assets are unfrozen.

I have a soft spot for any mother and child that are being used as cannon fodder in a political discussion.
My plan? POTUS goes to congress in “joint session” and declares (with logic) that we are under attack caused by our unwillingness to take control of our boarders. Democrats by design....Republicans by lack of balls.
PT then takes steps to ‘control’ our boarders by any means necessary..the difference is the plurality of Americans are aware of the need for extreme action by the Joint Session declaration of emergency.
Action of an extreme measure must now be made to secure our southern open wound.

Here's a hypothetical...
When the United States sends unarmed "advisors" into, say, North Vietnam in 1963, is that illegal immigration or the precursor to an invasion?
When we see a caravan of at least 75% military age men heading north towards our border, are we supposed to treat it as law enforcement, or the precursor of something else?
Do invaders have to be armed for it to be an invasion?

The RNC and Trump need to publicize the Hondurans painting swastikas on American flags and burning them. This army of invaders has to be shown for what they are.
If Mexico won’t stop the army of invaders, then Trump should shut down the entire Mexican border. Then stop all $$ transfers to Mexico.
Why let them in in the first place? Once they're in, they have all kinds of "rights" our founding fathers never imagined thanks to Democrats, the liberal courts and the lying lamestream media.
Don't let them in. Post "you will be SHOT DEAD if you cross illegally" signs all up and down the border, then make good on it. Plain and simple as that. Illegal immigration will stop in a big hurry once the bodies start piling up.
Then again, President Trump can simply sign an EO ordering all money transfers to Mexico be halted and watch how fast the Mexican Government starts cooperating ....
