Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.

During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.

"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

POTUS spoke to the overflow crowd out here at the Murphysboro rally around 5:10 p.m. for about five minutes. He echoed his message from thruout the day that life has to go on amid tragic events such as Pittsburgh. POTUS also said I said a lot of people have been waiting in line for a long time. He spoke briefly, including a shoutout to the towns steel industry.
He Introduced Mike Bost and other congressmen, and they all took turns. After they were done, POTUS told the overflow crowd, I will be speaking and I will be thinking about you people and asked them, have you voted yet?
