A white woman who was filmed blocking a black man from entering the St. Louis loft building where they live has denied that she is racist and says she was concerned for her safety.
Hilary Brooke Thornton, 32, was fired from her job as a realtor after footage of her confronting D'Arreion Toles at their luxury condo building in Missouri City went viral.
Toles said he was coming home from work on Friday night when Thornton physically blocked him from entering.
The 24-year-old filmed the incident as Thornton, who was holding a glittery phone and her dog on a leash, demanded to know what apartment he lived in.

So true! They may have directed people to not open secured doors for individuals who were not buzzed in or did not have a fob. Monitor and report if someone is in that you don’t recognize.
Condo owners are more vigilant about security because unlike apartments, they OWN the building. Still, no Association should promise security as one of its duties; the liability is too great. Crime happens, bad things happen. Access mitigation is the only thing the Association can offer, with no guarantee.
I think it all started off by her flirting with him.

Exactly. This is the new trend: Each woman is videotaped, assigned a funny name, and then derided all over the internet.
In some cases, a woman is being a busybody. But, in most cases, the person filming is overreacting, too, and sometimes really is breaking a rule, or simply putting a spin on the story.
This guy should’ve told her to close the door so that he could buzz himself in.
Then, if she didn’t let him close the door, he should’ve reported her.
But, no, he wanted a video to put on the internet. And he got one.
From the start it struck me that she was doing exactly what apartment residents are constantly told to do.
I wonder how many crimes are committed in a year due to residents letting criminals slip through security behind them?
They of course can’t find any white women committing crimes against minority men. So the best they can do is find white women afraid of becoming victims of minority men — and somehow appearing un-PC in the process.
