Best launch viewing in San Diego ever. Saw the first stage boost back burn and glowing rings around first stage when gas jets would fire. Just awesome!

Two things:
1) I want to see if anyone got pictures of the contril from the Falcon 9 as it went up, and
2) I want to know if any yahoos complained about the expected sonic boom when it descended.

Watched the whole launch. From the SpaceX website and then at about 2 miles up watched it from the driveway. Truly awesome!

It helps pay the bill$. I think it was a communications satellite for them.

I saw it on the central coast of California. It was so bright at one point.

And the second stage took a long time to drop. As it got closer to the pad, when they fired the rockets to slow it down, it was intense!

I think SpaceX times their launches on the West coast to put on a light show if at all possible.

Privateer launches for communication satellites, has nothing to do with national defense/space race with china or “Space Force” [/sarc]

I saw it in North Orange County, where I stood by a railroad track so I could get a good view of the western sky that wasn’t blocked by trees. At first, I noticed a thin, barely visible vertical line, then a burst of light. I could see a small point of sight that was probably the rocket. At one point, I could see a large point of light, which I figured was the first stage, drifting downward.
