That sounds more likely. As far as I know, Jackson seemed hetero, but he also slept (according to him, literally slept, as in just sleeping) with young children.

Great post! I was just thinking of this very subject the other day. Locally, there is an oldies show that I listen to after church. Though this song is technically from the 60's, Barbara Streisand singing, "He Touched Me" would probably never get on the radio these days! Powerful vocal but sadly, Babs is off the beam in her hatred!
He touched me... Control myself and try to act As if I remember my name But he touched me...he touched me... And suddenly nothing is the same! 'cause he touched me...he touched me... And suddenly...nothing, nothing, nothing is the same

Wasnt he discussing Michael Jackson when he wrote that? At the time I thought it might be Prince. Never really did find out for sure. It may not even be anybody specific.

How about the The Who’s “A Quick One While He’s Away”.

When you’re cruising around on a Summer day listening to oldies you really aren’t analyzing the lyrics that much.

"Lick It Up"
Don't wanna wait 'til you know me better
Let's just be glad for the time together
Life's such a treat and it's time you taste it
There ain't a reason on earth to waste it
It ain't a crime to be good to yourself
[Chorus:]
Lick it up, lick it up, it's only right now
Lick it up, lick it up, ooh yeah
Lick it up, lick it up, come on, come on
Lick it up, lick it up
Don't need to wait for an invitation
You gotta live like you're on vacation
There's something sweet you can't buy with money -
lick it up, lick it up
It's all you need, so believe me honey
It ain't a crime to be good to yourelf
[chorus]
Come on - it's only right now (it's only right now)
Ooh yeah (ooh yeah) ooh yeah (ooh yeah), yeah yeah
[chorus repeats out]

I didn’t really understand most of the lyrics in the 70s.

And then theres Island Girl, an uptempo tune that became a big hit in 1975. Its a nice, fun little song until you realize what its about. The song describes a Jamaican prostitute in New York City and one mans desire to take her back to the island. That sounds all well and good, except that the lyrics give a detailed description of the business of prostitution to the bouncy beat. Huh. The very first record I ever bought, when I was about six years old I guess, was a single of Elton John's with "Island Girl" on one side and "Philadelphia Freedom" on the other. I bought it for "Philadelphia Freedom" and only listed to "Island Girl" a couple of times. Didn't care for it. Thankfully the meaning of it went completely over my head. If not for this article I'd have never known. Unlike most of the other songs on this list, nobody's playing "Island Girl" in the 21st century.

Game Of Love lyrics - Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders :
The purpose of a man is to love a woman,
And the purpose of a woman is to love a man,
So come on baby let's start today, come on baby let's play
