RED DOOR BUNNY HOLE
PART TWO
In Part One, we began our discussion of Red Door symbology by immediately taking a detour to look at the use of a Red Door as her company name and emblem by Elizabeth Arden, a very glamorous make up artist and purveyor.
Now we get to the main discussion on red door symbology meant to be a reply to the posts by Pete from Shawnee Mission and others about the red door in those strange triangular building pictures.
TRAVELERS/ HOME DECORATION

Excerpt:
“In the American tradition, a house with a red door was ready to provide SHELTER TO A TIRED TRAVELER.
The red door in Feng Shui means HOSPITALITY AND WARM WELCOME. The door in this color drives evil forces away and promotes the awakening of positive energy.
In psychology, active people who always want to be in the centre of attention prefer this shade.
In coloring (the science of color, including knowledge of the nature of color and their basic characteristics) red color means ACTIVITY AND VIVACITY. It helps to create a sense of CELEBRATION in the interior, fills the room with energy and emphasizes accents.
If you are attracted to red, think about installing a red front door in your house. This allows you to transform the interior and facade of your house, as well as to add bright colors.”
[This is not highly meaningful, but it got my attention because of the original appearance of the triangle buildings having a red door in an obviously cold area:]
“THIS IS ESPECIALLY RELEVANT IF YOU LIVE IN COLD REGIONS, with a lot of precipitation. such a rich color can BRING CHEERFULNESS AND POSITIVE MOOD to your house!...”
SACRED HISTORICAL ASPECTS
A fascinating link traces the history of the red door to the time of the Passover of the Angel of Death and the sparing of the Jews who were still captives in Egypt. It also goes on to discuss the meaning of a red door to Christians. The church whose website this is, has selected the red door as their ministry symbol. As Christians, they maintain that each one who is Christian IS the red door:

Excerpt:
“Throughout time, travelers around the world have come to know the red door as a symbol of rescue, a place of unconditional welcome. The red door stands as an unspoken salutation to all those lost, wearied, and in need of rescue. And like all good symbols its origins are rooted in a deeper story, and this one is incredible. Lend your mind to this story, and I guarantee that after hearing this you will never see a red door or yourself the same way ever again....”
UNDERGROUND RAILROAD / MORTGAGES/ / THE REFORMATION/ EINSTEIN
This link describes the symbol of a red door’s use during the days of the Underground Railway, Scottish paid mortgage practice, as well as some other meanings of this distinguishment:

Excerpt:
“A sign of welcome and warmth, a red door is thought to signify the safety of a house along the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, a route for African slaves escaping captivity and traveling north during the 19th century. In Scotland, a red door signifies the STATUS OF A PAID MORTGAGE. Some Protestant and most Lutheran churches PAINTED CHURCH DOORS RED TO IDENTIFY THEM AS PART OF THE REFORMATION. Albert EINSTEIN PAINTED HIS FRONT DOOR RED SO HE COULD FIND HIS HOUSE.”
OCCULT
The following link discusses a bit of the occult symbology related to the color RED:

Excerpt:
“The colour of blood is nat-urally connected with the idea of sacrifice
It has also a darker side, connected with the flames of hell, the appearance of demons, the apoplectic face of rage.
Scarlet was the distinctive colour of the Order of the Golden Fleece, established in 1429 by Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy (1419-67).
Red is the color of fire, and fire was to the Egyptians the symbol of the regeneration and the purification of souls. Hence, in the Masonic system, red is the symbol of regeneration. Thus red is the color assigned to the Royal Arch Degree since that degree teaches the regeneration of life...”
THE COLOR RED AND ITS OVERALL MEANINGS
Here is a fascinating discussion of various meaning of the color RED. It has quite a number of entries, and if the topic is of interest, would be worthwhile placing in your Saved Link files, if you have such:
Excerpt:
“All About the Color RED
Red has more personal associations than any other color. Recognized as a stimulant, red is inherently exciting and the amount of red is directly related to the level of energy perceived. Red draws attention and a keen use of red as an accent can immediately focus attention on a particular element.
HOW THE COLOR RED AFFECTS US PHYSICALLY...”
And the website page goes on to describe expressions, songs, political associations, chakra, and many areas where we see red!
So when we see red doors, how do we know what meaning the door owner(s) intend to convey?
I suggest there are three major categories:
1). People who dont give a rip about symbology or are ignorant of associated symbology. They probably just like red and like the way their door stands out. It also makes giving location instructions easier! (Remember Einstein!)
2) People are familiar with the Biblical and historical positive meanings and want their homes to reflect that welcoming ambiance, and/or wish to avail themselves of the safety of the protection of the Holy Spirit for themselves and their property.
3) People are indeed aware of the negative occult meanings and wish to associate themselves with it, either because they are wanting to be perceived as evil cool or they are hard core.
So . How do you KNOW?
All I can say is, we must all excise discernment, wariness, and balance.
Most people on the thread are aware of the red scarf "Suicides". They have a sad association and we hope they stop.
Until today I have associated Red doors primarily with Christian Churches, Episcopalian and Lutheran. As the color of fire it is associated with the Holy Spirit and purification.
Interestingly, this is the First time I have heard of red door with a paid off mortgage. (Maybe Jocko can speak to that?:)
