Lost my Russian and had to take French and an extra year, but it was worth it to cry at the beauty of the art. THEN I got my dream job at the Adler Planetarium. Fired after 5 months. They caught me a day after the election. I’d been a Republican election judge in a Democratic patronage job. Used the science in computer science - computer language design at IBM Research. There’s as much beauty in both science and the arts.

If you had gone to the precinct captain and told him that you had a party job and wanted to play the role of Republican poll worker on a lark they probably would have had you. They have a hard time getting pubbie workers at vote time.
