Blood taken from a young person could be the key to maintaining long-lasting health in old age, scientists claim.

I have heard the rumors about Peter Thiel as well. Its called parabiosis. there is a start up called Ambrosia who will transfuse plasma from 16-25 y/o at 8K a pop. Thiel is apparently interested.

There have been reports of some very wealthy folks doing this. I wonder how much a healthy teen could get for a pint? If this really catches on, some kids are going to make some good money.
Was Ruth Bader Gisnburg involved in this study? It makes sense now.
Here’s an older more in depth article on the subject:
Supplemental income for 18 and 19 year old college students. Far better than donating to the sperm bank. Donate every Friday. They have free blood bank donations at colleges throughout the year. Might as well get paid to keep Mr. Montgomery Burns feeling youthful and energized.
This has been on for over a decade now. They do transfusions every week.
I still get phone calls for a nearby regional hospital to give blood, I’m 70.
I give it several times a year, they tell me where is used and thank me after. Makes me feel good that I helped somebody. (my wife had a number of transfusions last year after she had stints put in and put on anti coagulants.)
Good evening, Mister . . . Renfield.
Why not just transplant young marrow into your arms?
OTOH, “young blood” provides a new market for aborted fetuses...
I haven’t heard about the blood transplants, but I have read about the fecal transplants. I have read that accomplishing a fecal transplant from a thin person into an obese person, the obese person loses weight, and becomes less obese. The procedure is also used successfully as a treatment for C-Dif infections.
Millenials DO have a purpose.
Platelet rich plasma is nothing more than a centrifuge concentrated mix of platelets and other components active in healing and regeneration from a person’s own plasma.
Millenials > millennials
Bah.
There has been a platelet shortage for many years now. Hospitals conserve platelets and wait till its almost critical at times. Other times they are out and patients need to stay in the hospital and wait till more arrive, as its too much of a risk to be at home with a count under 5.
Reading that article annoyed me for this reason. These transfusions can be better used elsewhere for those who need them. (If not as how they are, they can also be processed to remove the platelets for those who need them).
These are transfusions, not transplants. Blood cells only live a few months as it circulated thru the body.
Odd that the very first thing that popped into my mind upon reading this thread title was...HILLARY.
Ewwwww
Seems there are some conflicting research out there. This is an older article, but it still offers some differing information.

A horrifying thought crosses my mind :-(
Since the world has become so twisted as to allow a woman to terminate a late-term pregnancy ...ewww
Imagine a Twilight-Zone worthy world where women get pregnant just to sell the aborted baby so monsters can use its substance to prolong their lives.
Dear God in heaven, please bring me home before I have to witness such evil, I just could not survive such a thing :-(
