…Was there ever a commercial for Jarts? (A lawn game featuring those huge—and dangerous!— lawn darts? Yes, throwing huge, sharp, metal-tipped darts around the yard amongst family and friends. What could possibly go wrong?)

The overwhelmingly vast majority of us understood that incoming Jarts had right-of-way. The banning of Jarts was one of the very earliest warning signs that we are ruled by lunatics.

Yes I can just barely remember those erasers.
I liked the frito bandito ads. Can still remember some of the song from the ad.

I Love Lucy in the 50’s selling Phillip Morris cigarettes. I still remember it.

I remember those Funny Face drink mixes.

My dad used to buy them for us. I think because
they were a nickel cheaper than Kool-Aid.

Funny faced advertised as pre-sweetened. Would have to have been Saccharine back in those days, I think.

If today’s snowflakes were forced to watch some of those old commercials, the little darlings would surely melt and try to flow to their safe spaces.

Recall what chalk marks on sidewalks did to them during the 2016 election cycle. They are so tender and sheltered. I am not sure which will be worse when they get out in real life: laughing at their foul-ups or crying at their foibles.

Back when stewardesses were unabashedly female. now we have bitchy grandmas. And homosexual flamers.

The (fake) VW ad that said if Teddy Kennedy had been driving a Volkswagen he’d have been president was cute.

Sure was! Us kids had our own version of the jingle:

Winston tastes bad, like the last one I just had

No filter, no flavor

And wrapped in toilet paper!

One of my favorites (1948). Now it would be considered an outrage on so many levels, which is why it is one of my favorites. I remember seeing this as a kid and snickering about it. That was porno for us then.

I think you're right. I remember Kook-Aid dropped the saccharine and put The Monkees in a series of commercials bragging about that.
