The Handmaid's Tale' protesters target Kavanaugh originally appeared on abcnews.go.com
As Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh took his seat Tuesday before senators ready to scrutinize his stance on abortion, a group of women stood in silent protest outside the judge's confirmation hearing room, dressed in floor-length red gowns and white bonnets to reflect the Dystopian threat of "The Handmaid's Tale."
About 15 women lined the balconies overlooking the entrance to Senate office building. Their costumes, coupled with their silence, were meant to carry an ominous message from Margaret Atwood's novel-turned Hulu miniseries about a world devoid of basic human rights for women. The protest was organized by the liberal advocacy group Demand Justice, which strongly opposes Kavanaugh's confirmation because of his previous decisions on abortion and health care as a U.S. Court of Appeals judge.
"We are fighting Brett Kavanaughs nomination because he represents the greatest threat to the right to legal abortion since Roe was decided. Already in America, the right to abortion is under attack, putting access out of reach for far too many women, especially low-income women and women of color. Brett Kavanaugh would take our current reality and make it worsemuch worse," Lori Lodes, an advisor with Demand Justice, wrote in a statement to ABC News.

We need a counterprotest based on the cast of Rat Patrol or The Courtship of Eddie’s Father. Or the Kolchak The Nightstalker! I get to be Karl!
I hope that Kavanaugh enjoyed their silence - I know that I did!
Those you see in the above picture represent those women who believe all women are helpless before men. They might talk a good talk, but in the end they believe women are inferior to men. How else could anything like the above even be conceivable otherwise. I have never met a woman who could let the above scenario develop without fighting it tooth and nail. And I do not want to meet such a woman. I want a woman who believes in herself and what she can do and stand for.
BTW, do any of you really believe women in this country would allow the above to happen?
And how many men would allow their daughter or wife to basically become a “breeding cow”? I figure I wouldn’t be the first to die when they came for her.
It is pitiful that such a asinine piece of fiction could even be entertained in our political body. If you even think that above has more the a 1 in 100,000,000 chance of happening, there are a few governmental lists you belong on.
A Handmaids Tale is The Protocols of the Elders of Zion for Christians

The book actually did give a reason that abortion was illegal. There was a lack of fertile women and most pregnancies ended in miscarriages. When babies are a scarce and precious resource then killing one just because is unthinkable.
The TV show which does not even follow the threadbare line of reasoning in the book is apparently just plain stupid.
