A diversity drive is spreading across the city as 78 schools in 14 of the citys 32 community districts now boast plans that will give admission priority to predominantly black and Hispanic kids and more schools will soon follow, a Post analysis found.

So it’s institutionalized racism.
Exactly!
How difficult it is to devise the perfect hierarchy of people better than others. Whom to put at the top? Muslims? Transgenders? Illegals? Are Asians more valuable than whites? These decisions are so important and need to be made by the correct elite people...
The elite public schools in NYC will be tearing themselves out of elite status both culturally and academically.
What this kind of thinking has done is (1) to cause a situation where blacks and hispanics have been molded to be good enough, but not to reach their full potential. Compare that to the three woman portrayed in Hidden Figures. They had to set the highest possible standards for themselves in order to get ahead. (2) give the elite DecisionMakers more flexibility about which minority members to choose. Uncle Toms who do exactly what the system wants them to do and are easily persuaded by the false narrative are tops on the list. (well, except for criminals with incredible football skills....they come first)
Aren’t most school kids in NYC predominantly black and hispanic anyway?
So if you’re only 40% African, you won’t get priority?
Maybe you’ll have to get a job as a headline writer...
They will need a racial determination board. Just like South Africa.
Whites are going to be put at the back of every line until they stand up for themselves as a group.
I thought races don’t exist.
Yup...it’s crap like that is another big reason why Whites have been leaving the Dims in droves
And the Asians need to wake up and follow.
EXACTLY! These commie pigs DumblASSio and his school chancellor Carranza (who I STILL have never seen saying the first word--nothing--about actual education, only diversity, diversity, diversity) are hell bent on twisting and contorting the school system to try and guarantee success for minority and Hispanic students--exactly like Hillary tried to twist and contort the electoral process to guarantee her presidential win. I hope it all blows up like an atomic bomb for this crook DumblASSio, who is accused at least once a week of some major corruption. Why he isn't in jail yet is one of the wonders of the world, just like his hero Hillary.
It's interesting, the circles that NY liberals (and many others) go in.
1. Minorities need to be among whites to have access to "good" schools. BUT...
2. If there are too many whites, the minorities feel outnumbered, so bring in more minorities. ALSO
3. Minorities don't like to learn from white teachers. So bring in Minority teachers. AND...
4. Minorities don't like to read classic white literature. So bring in the dumbed down "culturally relevant" writing. This is getting expensive, so NOW...
5. Raise taxes on the white families to pay for it. SUDDENLY...
6. White families realize they are paying astronomical taxes for minority teachers to teach minority literature and concerns catering to minority students, and their own kids are in a shrinking, marginalized group who are getting beat up in the bathrooms. EXIT...
7. to private school and now the minorities are fully in charge of the building. Then the scores start going down again. And it all starts up again.
It really sounds like they just need white folks around (and Asians) to keep the tax base and score average high enough to pay for the shenanigans and look good on paper and in brochures. But the fact is, whites are shock absorbers to them and little else. And if we decline to be buffers, we're "racist."

How much will this lawsuit cost the city?
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
