Saw ELO at Denver Pepsi Center last Wednesday, 8,8,2018. Wow, show looked to n=be sold out. The wife and I had great seats. Section BBB, row 7. That is the center of the floor, row 7. It was amazing. Around 20 songs and I knew them all. It has been 35 years since ELO played in the USA and I was there. They have more dates before their last date in London. Two nights at Madison Square Gardens in NYC. Maybe 8 shows remaining. I highly recommend.

I saw footage of a show they did in London recently (by the way they sound fantastic!) They gave a shout-out to Bev Bevan, who apparently is ill and not doing all that well.

If that by that you mean the kind of liberal that your not sure is a liberal then I’d agree. Even Dylan sounds more conservative then you’d think in interviews.

You did not say which video, you posted several. I am guessing it was from the Zoom tour. I like the production on that one a lot, better than cell phone videos. Not sure which song, Mr Blue Sky, Can’t Get it Out of my Head? I thought both were excellent.
Or was it the fourth song in the link you posted in post #51? That version of “Living Thing” was excellent.
All the links I posted were to the full Zoom concert 2001 tour. Great video, as you note. How about the guilt or innocence of his strings and backup singer?
Saw them in Chicago last week, great show. Jeff Lynne, who I think has one of the best R&R voices ever, and is a musical genius, but a stiff as a showman.
Nonetheless, one of my personal favs and really enjoyed seeing him live again.

Obviously I remembered it to tell you Jeff Lynne / ELO is doing a 20 gig tour this year in North America and a Portland Oregon stop on June 29th is on the menu. Just found out and got floor tickets. We did see Fleetwood Mac in Vegas late last year and they sounded great.
Hope all is well with you. My lovely wife and I have been traveling a lot; Back to Aruba shortly after 3 weeks in Hawaii. Having a ton of fun and hope you are too.

Hi Terry. I have been doing well. I retired last April and am now helping more with my wife with our small business. I am also continuing to look at sports cars. I may pull the trigger on a McLaren 600LT soon. The production is limited to only the 2018 model year. Hope you have a good time vacationing in the tropics. I have been preparing for a snow storm coming tomorrow and then temps won’t be above freezing for at least the next 19 days.
During their 1970s heyday, ELO had some of the most extravagant (and expensive) staging in the music business. I saw one of their Boston concerts around 1977 and they appeared to come out of a spaceship when the concert began.
I youtubed their song “Roll over Beethoven” live recently.
I am losing my hearing, so I cranked it up while no one was at home.
Awesome.
They still have a spaceship theme, but now it is an image on their huge LCD screens.

We saw Cold Play in Portland the night after Tom Petty died. (And the horrific Vegas shooing) Cold Play opened up with “Free Fall’n” as a tribute. Very emotional.
Tom Petty’s guitarist was playing with Fleetwood Mac when we saw them in Vegas. Their encore was....you guessed it...”Free Fall’n”
On a side note we saw Taylor Swift in Bank One Stadium in Minneapolis last year. Like her or not that was the best concert / performance we’ve ever been too.
We actually saw Bob Dylan at our local amphitheater a couple of years ago. He is an incredible song writer. His music soothed my soul when I was stationed in Korea in ‘71. (Lay Lady Lay)
Also for The Rolling Stones also at Lakeland when they were doing their tour of small venues in the late 1970's and they only sold tickets for half of the capacity. You could walk right up to the front of the stage. Also, there was doubt that it was really them because the tickets said the group was "The Great Stoned Out Wrestling Champions". But, it was really them.
