I find the whole thing fascinating.

The article states the foal was 98cm at the shoulder which I think is 36 inches.

Also states they believe it to be equus lambei which was only 4 foot tall.

“Based on the fossil records discovered in the Yukon, Equus lambei is believed to have been a small, slender, caballoid horse (about four ft tall), with a broad skull and a relatively long protocones”

Also states they believe the foal is approx. 2mos old. I’ve raised a lot of foals and I think it’s younger than that.

It will be really interesting to see what DNA says.

Would this place them akin to the present day Mongolian horse?
I’ve never own a horse but do love them.

The foal was 3 ft tall, and an adult is only 4 foot tall?.........
