Because I plan to post more parts to the Steve Allen Bunny Hole dig, I am reposting the Part One. For this reposting, I am dividing it into Parts A and B. Then following that I plan to link the following parts to this initial post..... provided I don’t get distracted and mess up!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Steven W. posted a POTUS TWEET and pointed out a misspelling:

“Makes one think, “Something BIG is about to drop” ... seriously!
We’ve got another “typo”! SMOCKING!”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Very interesting Tweet misspelling of POTUS’.
“SMOCKING” for some reason made me think of early days of the Tonight Show, one of which’s early shapers was Steve Allen. (I’ve seen accounts where he is given credit and some where Jack Paar is given credit. I’m neutral on the point.)
Allen used to crack up my entire family sometimes when he would launch into a loony tirade, hollering, “SMOCK SMOCK SMOCK!!” We really would roll on the floor laughing!
I did a search looking for any significant or relevant ties that Trump might have had with Steve Allen. However, I did find a few things which potentially pointed to why Trump might be referring to Steve Allen or pointing at him through the “SMOCK!ing” reference.
While I’m not certain of the value the following may have to our Q researches (and there may actually be some value) I did find some things that seem intrinsically worth sharing:
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
This 2017 article actually could have some Q value down the road, if not now, for it references a short story by Steve Allen which was prescient in its theme of a society focusing its hate on one person, much like what we are seeing today.
It may (or may not) be what POTUS was calling to mind with Steve Allen’s distinctive “SMOCK!!” squawk. I offer the link and some excerpts to you simply because I think it is of interest all on its own:

The ‘Public Hating’ of Donald Trump

By Jennifer Logue | August 30, 2017, 11:15 EDT

“In 1955, popular talk show host Steve Allen wrote a chilling short story. Set in the faraway future of the late 1970s, the story begins in New York City’s Yankee Stadium, where some 70,000 spectators munch on hot dogs and down cold beers as they eagerly await the afternoon’s main event.

But this is no World Series game for which the crowds have assembled. In Allen’s dystopian future, they are there to join in a “public hating.” Drawing on the depths of their collective hatred, the mob directs such powerful mass hostility and rage at a political prisoner that the unlucky victim actually suffers physical pain, writhing and convulsing to the point of death.”

“Today – at a time when the American Left has taken its personal animosity toward President Donald Trump to hysterical and at times violent extremes – Allen’s story, “The Public Hating,” seems practically clairvoyant. Instead of gathering in a stadium, today’s haters post photos online of the president’s bloody, decapitated head....”

snip

“Ironically, Allen wrote his story amid the national fear of Communist infiltration that became known as McCarthyism. At the time, it was the American Left that decried the witch hunt atmosphere of the McCarthy hearings....”

snip

“Yet today, it is the Left and its media allies who have set as their goal nothing less than the removal from office of a lawfully elected sitting U.S. president. No outlandish rumor is beyond circulation, no crisis beyond exploitation.....”

snip

“The parallel between “The Public Hating” and the Left’s hatred for Donald Trump is shown most acutely through the short story’s master of ceremonies – identified as the former president of Harvard University – who whips the crowd into a frenzy of mass animosity capable of inflicting pain and death. He is the personification of today’s mainstream media...”

snip

“The saving grace of “The Public Hating” is a lone figure who observes the crowd’s malevolent assault with growing horror. As he watches the sea of faces contorted with rage and the prisoner thrashing about in anguish, he finds he can stomach the brutal attack no longer. Rejecting hatred, he stands up and leaves before the mob completes its repugnant task.”

“Today’s Left is similarly consumed by hate – so much so, that it seems as though hating Trump has become the new McCarthyism. How long must we wait before the American people can no longer stomach the vicious attacks on President Trump and say, “Enough”?”

*texokie sits on the floor of the tunnel and sharpens shovel and stands up and breaks into another tunnel direction*

Then I learned that apparently President Trump was/is a member of the New York Friars Club, which in a nut shell, is a posh comedy club.

Of note is that Steve Allen, as one might expect, was probably a member. The Wiki entry states that the club had produced a 1999 Cinemax film featuring previously “unseen footage of roasts and interviews with Friars such as Milton Berle, Buddy Hackett, Sid Caesar, Steve Allen, Henny Youngman, Jeffrey Ross, Larry King, Ed McMahon, and Phyllis Diller.”

I did not see a direct intersect between Allen and Trump in that context, but it is true that in 2004, Trump was roasted by Regis Philben. The next year, Trump roasted Don King. Steve Allan died in 2000.

It might be noted that there are a LOT of very well known figures cited in the wiki article as having ties to the club - and consequently potentially with Donald J. Trump as well.

*texokie marks the wall in that area for future excavation if developing data warrants it*

STEVE ALLEN DIG
PART ONE B

I found a news report of the death of Steve Allen as being from complications from a car crash. He had been working on an article:

“...On the day of his death, Allen was planning the promotion of his 53rd book and working on the manuscript for a 54th, “Vulgarians at the Gate”, about what he saw as an increase in violence and vulgarity in the media.”

Now that is quite an interesting topic, in light of recent events with the exposing of “Fake News” and “Mockingbird Media.”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

*Search duckduckgo redirects texokie who is at the end of that particular tunnellette, which was somewhat confusing. Pulled up tweets from “Steve Allen”….but he is no longer with us. Texokie sits on the floor of the tunnel to work out the source of confusion. AHA! It’s JUNIOR*

It seems that Mr Steve Allen Jr does not appear to be a very big fan of our current President. I don’t do twitter, and so was unable to figure out what date he released this tweet:

https://twitter.com/Slugbatt

Steve Allen Retweeted Donald J. Trump and replied to the POTUS tweet:

“But you didn’t have the guts to confront Putin face to face about it. I meet people like you now and again down at my local pub, their stories get distorted and grow with each day that passes, yeh, it was this big but got away! Please grow up and don’t take poeple for idiots.”
I made an effort to collect the link for this one, but now I find it did not make it to my draft copy. He was answering someone else’s question about DJT’s tweeting in the following.

“Normally, I’d rather he not spend 4 hours a morning watching faux and friends and tweeting conspiracy nonsense, but I’ve sort of changed my mind recently. Twitter is putting his , ahem, personality on full display. If we has being this paranoid and, frankly, unstable in private we might not have any idea of the damage he is doing.

But he loves being the center of attention more than anything, and given that we can’t trust anything he actually says (since he contradicts himself, sometimes even minutes apart), more information about his state of mind (irk) is better than none.”

*texokie shakes her head as she sets aside that text from a soul who sounds so very unhappy. texokie then heaves a sigh of expectation and followed by exasperation when directed by Mr. D.-D.-Go to look at how Hollywood viewed Donald Trump before the Presidency.*

Timing Is Everything: What Hollywood Thought of Donald Trump before He Was President

JENNI FINK | MAR 18, 2017 | 6:02 PM
As one might expect, people thought “The Donald” was cool. There are quite few great pix of our POTUS in those earlier years.
His appearances listed in the article include, “Fresh Prince of Belaire,” and “Sex in the City,”

At one point, he and Melania posed for pictures with Alec and Carol M. Baldwin at a fund raiser for breast cancer research.

There are a couple of pictures with him rubbing shoulders with people in the fashion industry, such as Anna Wintour, a Clinton supporter.
Another Clinton supporters was among his fans:

“Actress Lena Dunham was a staunch supporter of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. But, in a 2013 episode of the show “Girls,” which she co-produced, one character encouraged her boyfriend to go see the future president speak.”

Trump entertained Rod Stewart at Mar a Lago. “ Stewart reportedly said Trump isn’t “made to be president,” but claimed his politics are separate from their friendship.”

The article documents the friendship between Trumps and Clintons, including the friendship of Chelsea and Ivanka, and “a quick Google image search reveals Donald Trump on a slew of red carpets, surrounded by celebrities.”

*but no Steve Allen connection to DJT. texokie wipes the ladylike perspiration from her forehead and turns another direction and marks some very promising tunnellettes. texokie’s cell phone magically receives signal, even as deep down in the hole as she is. She answers the phone*

Hi! what ya need? Hmmm hmmmm.. oh ok.. just gotta put this stuff away and climb out!

*texokie puts away the phone, peaks around the corner and is quite startled at what she finds. She marks it with the red spray paint - not the blue. She’s really glad she had a ball of twine, because it IS a confusing warren down here. She climbs out, hoses off, and determines to come back for the rest tomorrow. This is possibly not a completely dry bunny hole after all*

STEVE ALLEN PART THREE
WHO THE HECK IS GERALD HEARD????

In Part Two, we learned that Gerald Heard is responsible for encouraging Steve Allen to try LSD.

*texokie, ever mindful of practicing good ecological manners in her digs, puts the empty plastic sammich bag into her back pack, sharpens her shovel, takes a sip of water, and attacks the spray painted marker with said shovel*

The Wiki article shows Heard as being highly connected to a number of the “Thinkers” of his day who in previous digs prompted by our Q hunts, have been shown to be elitist, if not outright elites themselves. He was also in the circle of people, some of whom were involved in the development of computers.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Heard

So we begin.

“Henry FitzGerald Heard[1] (6 October 1889 – 14 August 1971), commonly called Gerald Heard, was a British-born American historian, science writer, public lecturer, educator, and philosopher. He wrote many articles and over 35 books.

Heard was a guide and mentor to numerous well-known Americans, including Henry Luce and Clare Boothe Luce, and Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, in the 1950s and 1960s. His work was a forerunner of, and influence on, the consciousness development movement that has spread in the Western world since the 1960s.

The son of an Anglo-Irish clergyman, Heard was born in London. Heard studied history and theology at the University of Cambridge, graduating with honours in history. After working in other roles, he lectured from 1926 to 1929 for Oxford University’s extramural studies programme. Heard took a strong interest in developments in the sciences. In 1929, he edited The Realist, a short-lived monthly journal of scientific humanism (its sponsors included H.G. Wells, Arnold Bennett, Julian Huxley, and Aldous Huxley). In 1927 Heard began lecturing for South Place Ethical Society. During this period he was Science Commentator for the BBC for five years.

As a young man, he worked for the Agricultural Cooperative Movement in Ireland. In the 1920s and early 1930s, he acted as the personal secretary of Sir Horace Plunkett, founder of the cooperative movement, who spent his last years at Weybridge, Surrey. Naomi Mitchison, who admired Plunkett and was a friend of Heard, wrote of that time: “H.P., as we all called him, was getting past his prime and often ill but struggling to go on with the work to which he was devoted. Gerald [Heard] who was shepherding him about fairly continually, apologized once for leaving a dinner party abruptly when H.P. was suddenly overwhelmed by exhaustion”.

Horace Plunkett owned real estate in the U.S. states of Nebraska and Wyoming, and left some properties to Heard in his will…”

Snip

“…From 1932 to 1942 Heard was a council member of the Society for Psychical Research.

In 1931 Heard had initiated an informal research group to look into developing group-mindedness or group communications, which became known as The Engineers Study Group because several of its members were engineers who afterwards were involved in the early development of computers. Naomi Mitchison, who was a friend of Heard, also participated actively in this group.

After 1936 Heard broke with Mitchison over her outspoken support for the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War and her attempt, together with other members of the group, to run arms to Republican Spain….”

Snip

Heard at this time became a pacifist, and argued for the transformation of behavior through meditation and “disciplined nonviolence.”

“In 1937 he emigrated to the United States to give some lectures at Duke University. Heard was accompanied by Aldous Huxley, Huxley’s wife Maria, and their son Matthew Huxley. In the US, Heard’s main activities were writing, lecturing, and the occasional radio or TV appearance. He had formed an identity as an informed individual who recognised no intrinsic conflict among history, science, literature, and theology. Though he lectured at Duke, Heard turned down the offer of a post there, and traveled west to settle in California….”

So what does he do, and who does he do it with? His circle was comprised of literati, which included Christopher Isherwood. These discovered Swami Prabhavananda and Vedanta. Heard received initiation from Vedanta.

Heard believed in the concept of “intentional evolution,” which a person may pursue. He practiced meditation and yoga and was interested in parapsychology. He joined the Society for Psychical Research.

“…. In 1942 he founded Trabuco College as a facility where comparative religion studies and practices could be pursued…. Living as a freelance scholar, Heard had enjoyed security in America by way of what he’d inherited from Horace Plunkett as well as his own family. He used some of his inherited resources toward this most ambitious of projects. The idealistic experiment required land, and Heard bought 300 acres in Trabuco Canyon, in the Santa Ana Mountains.

Heard was the guiding light and a helpful resident sage, but by nature he was neither an organizer nor a manager. Felix Greene had filled these roles, but when Greene left the community and got married, the practical side of life of Trabuco College soon began to decay. Heard deeded the land and facilities to the Vedanta Society of Southern California, who still maintain the facility as a Ramakrishna monastery and retreat.

LSD

In 1954 Heard tried mescaline and, in the mid 1950s tried LSD. He felt that, used properly, these had strong potential to “enlarge Man’s mind” by allowing a person to see beyond his ego.

IN AUGUST 1956, ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS FOUNDER BILL WILSON FIRST TOOK LSD—UNDER HEARD’S GUIDANCE AND WITH THE OFFICIATING PRESENCE OF SIDNEY COHEN, A PSYCHIATRIST THEN WITH THE CALIFORNIA VETERANS ADMINISTRATION HOSPITAL. ACCORDING TO WILSON, THE SESSION ALLOWED HIM TO RE-EXPERIENCE A SPONTANEOUS SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE HE HAD HAD YEARS BEFORE, WHICH HAD ENABLED HIM TO OVERCOME HIS OWN ALCOHOLISM. IN THE LATE 1950S, HEARD ALSO WORKED WITH PSYCHIATRIST COHEN TO INTRODUCE OTHERS TO LSD, INCLUDING JOHN HUSTON AND STEVE ALLEN. WITH EXPERIENCE, HEARD ARRIVED AT A JUDICIOUS VIEW OF THE VALUE OF PSYCHEDELICS, SINCE AT THEIR BEST THE INSIGHTS AND ECSTASIES THEY FACILITATE ARE TEMPORARY STATES. RELIGION WRITER DON LATTIN WROTE THAT HEARD’S VIEW WAS “LSD MIGHT PROVIDE AN EXPERIENCE OF THE GREAT MYSTERIES, BUT IT OFFERED NO INSTANT ANSWERS.”

Heard was also responsible for introducing the then unknown Huston Smith to Huxley. Smith became one of the pre-eminent religious studies scholars in the United States. His book The World’s Religions is a classic in the field, has sold over two million copies and is considered a particularly useful introduction to comparative religion. THE MEETING WITH HUXLEY LED EVENTUALLY TO SMITH’S CONNECTION TO TIMOTHY LEARY.

Snip

The Wiki article discusses and gives a good summary of the concepts in the 1963 book of Heard’s called “The Five Ages of Man.” The reader is referred to that article, if it is of interest.

What about Heard’s personal life?
He had a life long partnership with a man named Christopher William Graham Wood, born in 1900 in Lambeth, Surrey. He has an impeccable BLOODLINE, being descended from the Plantagenets. In the Q universe, we know that this has very potential significance.

His parents died early, and he inherited a sizable estate. He attended Cambridge, but was not a good student, and in fact was involved in at least one notable scrape.

“…. Wood met Gerald Heard in the mid-1920s and started a relationship that would last till Heard’s death. According to William H. Forthman, “Gerald was very attached to Chris. They were a real couple.…”

“…Before coming to California, Gerald had become celibate. Chris had a series of boyfriends. Some of these young men were not very reputable, but Gerald still had this great affection for Christopher. It was like having a relative you love but are always trying to reform”. Heard described Wood in a 1926 letter to Naomi Mitchison: “[he] has nothing to do save play—piano, etc….”

An acquaintance reported that Wood reportedly looked after Heard’s material needs, and his inheritance allowed Heard a better lifestyle than he could have achieved on his own. Another acquaintance stated that the relationship between the two was Platonic after 1934 when Heard began his practice of meditation.

“…On April 7, 1937, Wood and Heard moved to the United States travelling in the same ocean liner as Aldous Huxley, his wife Maria Nys and their son Matthew. Wood rented an house at Laurel Canyon and Heard lived in a cottage behind it, 8766 Arlene Terrace.

Toward the end of his life, Heard was given a bit of financial assistance by Henry Luce and Clare Booth Luce. Heard died on 14 August 1971 at his home in Santa Monica, California, of the effects of several earlier strokes he had, beginning in 1966.

Christopher Wood died in 1976.

*texokie sits up sharply. Something clangs her memory bell*

WAIT - WHAT?? Laurel Canyon??? OMG…. Plantagenets, Power Elite, …Steve Allen…. And of course, Hollywood…

Nice work— as usual.

I remember Steve Allen well. My high school friends and I just loved his sense of humor. That “shmock” bit was one of my favorites. As a matter of fact, I have a brother-in-law who makes reference to it still on occasion. Allen always struck me as a very intelligent, talented, and decent man.

STEVE ALLEN PART 4

TWO OF STEVE ALLEN’S SONS

*texokie puts her cell phone back in her pocket and shivers. She sighs and puts on the light sweater. Mother of Dragons was right to caution her about the cold in the warrens. There is a small pocket of debris that needs to be removed before she can get to the next big area of digging. She gamely gets out one of the trowels she borrowed from TXnMA and begins scraping away at the small obstruction in front of her*

We learned that Gerald Heard had introduced Steve Allen to LSD. In the process of digging, the clever people at duckduckgo brought up another article with the name, Steve Allen Jr.

In this story, we find out that one of Steve Allen Sr.’s sons, Jr.’s brother, also had partaken of LSD. Jr. is clear that it is his opinion that there was not a good outcome from it. Perhaps Jr. really does have some kind of reason to be the unhappy soul we saw from his tweets examined previously. From this documentation, indications seem to be that Allen Sr. did not administer LSD to his son, but that the son sought it out and experienced it for himself.

“Steve Allen’s Son Brian Saw God on An Acid Trip: It Turned Him into Logic Israel”

https://people.com/archive/steve-allens-son-brian-saw-god-on-an-acid-trip-it-turned-him-into-logic-israel-vol-11-no-13/

In this piece by Cheryl McCall, April 2, 1979, we are informed that Brian Allen, Steve Allen’s son, is an elder of the Church of Jesus Christ at Armageddon in Seattle.

“He has been reborn under the name Logic Israel. He no longer reckons his age in years (“Our spirits have existed since the Creation”), and has become a humorless refugee from conventional values. Heeding the teachings of his mentor, Love Israel (né Paul Erdman), he does not smoke or eat meat, own any clocks, watches or mirrors, read magazines or books (except the Bible), practice birth control or indulge in unauthorized sexual relationships.

Logic’s family is both troubled and bewildered by his transformation. “What he has done is a rejection of all of us,” says his brother, Steve Allen Jr., 34, now a doctor in Elmira, N.Y. “Maybe we weren’t helping him enough.” (Steve Jr. adds: “We both stood in our father’s shadow, and it was a long one to climb away from because he was so good at so many things.”)

Brian, he says, gave little warning of his alienation. A cheerleader and a B-plus student in high school, he played off-key guitar and hung out with his brother. “My parents were separated when I was 6 and he was 3,” Steve Jr. recalls, “so we grew up away from show business, in the San Fernando Valley. My mother remarried a couple of times, and we visited my dad during the summers. When Brian finished high school, he decided to join the service. But that was the start of the Vietnam war, so my father and I talked him into college.”

Brian enrolled at little Yampa Valley College in Colorado but later transferred to California State at Hayward before dropping out of school and into Haight-Ashbury. There he encountered Erdman, a former real estate salesman. The two dropped acid together and then, to hear them tell it, saw God. “Our separation was over,” says Logic, recalling the moment. “We had conquered fear of each other, conquered death. We felt joy and celebration.”

He and Erdman rented a house and began to spread the word of their vision. Then, with the draft closing in, Brian decided to go back to school. “I made a real effort and I did good, but I didn’t feel good about it,” he says. He earned his degree and spent a year as a construction worker, but couldn’t reconcile his way of life with his values. “I felt I had been touched by God, but I didn’t know what to do,” he explains. “I couldn’t figure out how to live an unselfish life. I got down to eating just fruits and nuts, but then I thought, ‘What right do I have to eat a plant?’ And no matter what I did, I couldn’t please anybody—my father, my brother, my boss or my friends. Finally I just had to take off.” Brian went to Seattle to join Erdman in the sect.

Steve Jr. states that the group wanted those of Brian’s possessions “they could hock for cash.” Later, according to Jr., following two deaths in the commune from sniffing, supposedly in a religious ceremony, Steve Allen Sr. spent several days with them in Seattle, “and was convinced that people [in the community leadership] saw it [sniffing toluene] as a mistake,” says Steve Jr. “He felt that Brian was all right and reasonably sane.” Logic says the sniffing has been abandoned and the only drug used is marijuana, in moderation.”

Snip

According to the author, the community’s women are relegated to housekeeping chores, but apparently sleeping around is frowned on. The church leader must give approval as to who are to be mates. Logic states,
“Marriage is out of the question, he says, “because we are all married to each other.” The church leader, Love, says, “We’re building sex stereotypes here, making sure that ladies are ladies and men are men,” says Love. “We’ve eliminated the need for women’s liberation by being righteous with each other.”

Snip

“Logic’s mate, Simplicity, seems as dedicated to the church as he is and answers no questions about her life before joining. “It’s a point of honor that nobody here is going to dig into anyone’s past,” explains Logic. “We don’t try to figure you out by what you used to be because that’s not who you are anymore.”

“Such a cutting of all bonds with the past, Steve Allen Jr. realizes, is more than a matter of ritual—it is his brother’s way of saying goodbye. “I’m still upset,” says Allen, “partly because I wonder what he’s doing to himself, and partly because I’m one of the folks he left behind. He was a good friend—and it’s always sad to lose a friend.”

In another story about the organization Brian/Logic participated in, it states that Logic left the group:

“In July of 1983, some of the elders decided to express their concerns to Love in a letter. This letter stated that those who were writing felt that Love had alienated himself from the rest of Family members spiritually, socially, and economically. Upon reading the letter, Love gave members two options: accept his authority or leave the community. Logic and Strength chose to depart the community.”

*texokie dries and puts away TXnMA’s trowel, and contemplates the very difficult journeys made by different members of the Steve Allen family, who had so many forces and influences to deal with during those years, as, indeed, did many families in those turbulent times. Given the pressures, it is amazing what the man accomplished. She wonders what finally happened to Brian/Logic after he left the commune - but that is a dirt pile for another day’s dig. Also, what was the fermentation - or at least a locus of it causing such a breaking of social norms and family ties? She picks up the shovel and moves to the concern that attracted her attention earlier: Laurel Canyon. She sees a small pool and digs in her backpack for her waders*

STEVE ALLEN DIG PART FIVE A, B, and C
Background on Laurel Canyon
Early to 1920s

*Texokie sneezes. At this point, she senses that the pool is getting deeper, and her hip waders are in danger of taking on water. There is just so much material here. She puts on her jacket over the sweater which Mother of Dragons had insisted she take along. A deep 40 degree Fahrenheit tunnel is cold - even in August. Yes, Mom was right. Texokie shivers, but isn’t sure if it is because of the temperature, or because of what she faces. She sees that in order to navigate more easily, it will require some preparation. Happily, she spies a bit of a crack in the floor of the tunnel and digs a small ditch to the pool she has waded into so it can drain. She is able to move past the pool, but keeps the waders on because of all the mud.*

WARNING! IN KEEPING WITH Q’S ADMONITION THAT EACH ONE SHOULD CHOOSE ABOUT “KNOWING,” AND RANSOMNOTE, OUR THREAD HEAD, AND MOTHER OF DRAGON’S REQUEST THAT LINKS/POSTS WITH GRAPHIC INFORMATION SHOULD BE MARKED WITH SAID WARNING, PLEASE HEREBY KNOW THAT YOU ARE WARNED. My post here does not get graphic, but if you follow some of the links, there is graphic and distressing material there.

There is actually a very well documented history of Laurel Canyon. It is written by David McGowan. I have not read all of it, but I do plan to. I think for any Q bunny hole dig in or near Hollywood, or Hollywood people, it is important to at least consult his work:
http://www.illuminati-news.com/articles2/00201.html

This is a summary / title page describing the contents of the history:
http://www.mygen.com/Laurel_Canyon-David_McGowan_report.htm

Another resource that seems to have some interesting material on Laurel Canyon also includes work done by Paul A Drockton M.A.

http://whale.to/b/laurel_canyon6.html

Drockton states about his own work, “in this series of articles we will show why we believe that this area is also an Illuminati Headquarters in the United States….”

Let’s get to it!

One of the things we should recognize from the outset is that the names, “Hollywood” and “Laurel” are satanic symbols in and of themselves. This is pointed out in an interesting source at
http://johnnycirucci.com/holly-and-laurel/

“ Holly has the rare quality of requiring separate “male” and “female” flowers for pollination.  It’s also an evergreen, maintaining its leaves through winter.  Consequently, it had strong pagan significance in “fertility” rites.”

“Laurel was considered sacred to the god Apollo.”

While I have not yet found the information regarding the people living in Laurel Canyon in the early 1900s, I did find from a cleverly named source, “blogorama,” that “ one of the early tramlines was in downtown Los Angeles, and one of the first routes ever developed went to Laurel Canyon.”
https://www.blogarama.com/observations-blogs/118238-xaviant-haze-blog/19176113-laurel-canyon-diaries-crowley-parsons-electric-car

That seems significant to me, because there must have been someone awfully darned important in Laurel Canyon to cause the City to be spending the City resources in such a way.

Tom Mix, cowboy star was a 1920s resident.

Also among the earliest people of note to live in Laurel Canyon was Harry Houdini, who lived there 1919-1920. His life there in some ways exemplifies what was to follow in many residence: famous artist, with dark secrets. There is also a documented high incidence of suspicious/untimely deaths among the residence of Laurel Canyon through time.

Drockton describes Harry Houdini’s suspicious death, as well as what his magic show may have been hiding.

“Harry Houdini died on Halloween day, 1926, purportedly of an attack of appendicitis precipitated by a blow to the stomach. The problem with that story, however, is that medical science now recognizes it to be an impossibility. According to a recent book about the famed illusionist (The Secret Life of Houdini, by William Kalush and Larry Sloman), Houdini was likely murdered by poisoning. Questions have been raised, the book notes, by the curious lack of an autopsy, an “experimental serum” that Houdini was apparently given in the hospital, and indications that his wife, Bess, may have been poisoned as well (though she survived). On March 23, 2007, an exhumation of Houdini’s remains was formally requested by his surviving family members.”

Even more intriguing, is the revelation that Henry Houdini was an “Intelligence Asset”:
What the book does do, however, is compellingly document that Houdini was, in fact, an intelligence asset who used his magic act as a cover. Not only did the authors obtain corroborating documentation from Scotland Yard, they also received an endorsement of their claim from no less an authority than John McLaughlin, former Acting Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (ibid).

Drockton has documented with a long list many of the people who have lived in Laurel Canyon. I will not put the whole list here, but have picked out a few to illustrate the nature of the history of the people we are studying. I have researched only a few of the early ones whom I had actually heard of, but didn’t recall particulars. For the more familiar ones of recent times, I will mention them, but try not to go into detail in order to save band width. There are many others, both whom I had not heard of, and who are quite well known, and would probably merit further research. [Believe me it is such a temptation to follow every single bunny in this warren, but I will desist at this time.]

STEVE ALLEN DIG PART FIVE B
Background on Laurel Canyon
1920s - 1940s

The first name after Houdini’s for that 1920s time period I recognized was Mary Astor. She was an actress who performed in silent pictures and is perhaps best known for her role in the 1941 movie, “Maltese Falcon.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Astor

Her Wiki page shows she had a rather strict set of parents. They fended off some of the Hollywood bigwigs who were seeking to woo their underage daughter. (She was not happy about that!) There were other challenges in her personal life, but for the purposes of this very cursory tour through Laurel Canyon, we will only note that:

“In 1928, she married director Kenneth Hawks at her family home, Moorcrest. He gave her a Packard automobile as a wedding present and the couple moved into a home high up on Appian Way, a small hilltop street in Laurel Canyon above the Sunset Strip. Their address was 8803 Appian Way….”

Another 1920’s Laurel Canyon inhabitant was actress Clara Bow, whose wiki page tells us that she was the “It Girl” who personified the Roaring Twenties and was that era’s leading sex symbol.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clara_Bow

One very notable resident of Laurel Canyon for our purposes, arrived in 1933. According to the author at the blogorama link above, Aliester Crowley set up operations in this area by founding the LA Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) :

“…After Reuss died Crowley became the official grandmaster of the O.T.O. and what better place to open a new lodge than the inspiring hills of Laurel Canyon. Crowley “The beast” came to Hollywood in the curiously symbolic year of 1933. Even the meaning of Hollywood has occult and magic connotations, the ‘Holly-wand’ was a wand fashioned out of leaves from the holly tree and used by witches and wizards to cast spells upon humanity as we learned from Jordan Maxwell. Crowley’s time in Los Angeles would prove to be history making as he would go on to influence generations of Southern Californians as well as the rest of the world, with his nefarious writings and ever growing mystique. He even played a pivotal role in influencing one of America’s most brilliant minds. …..”

The mind referenced here is Jack Parsons - rocket science genius. I have not seen Parsons on any of the lists of residents of Laurel Canyon, but when Parsons was not rocket geniusing, he was the head of the LA OTO, and by extension, close to operators and operations of Laurel Canyon.

From the blogorama source about Parsons:
“In the early years of World War II, these rockets were used to reduce by more than 30 percent the distance required to get military aircraft off the ground.” Parsons sold his share of Aerojet and helped create JPL, which also included members of NASA.”

“Both companies shared friends in high places, and high degrees of freemasonry. Nazi mad scientists, false homoerotic messiahs and Masonic, satanic occult worshippers, ran both organizations behind the scenes. Parsons saw nothing wrong with mixing scientific and magical pursuits, he believed they existed within the same universe of each other. “

“He became a curiosity, especially to the various high ranking good ol’boy Generals who no doubt scratched their heads every time Parsons chanted Crowley’s hymn to the Greek god Pan before a rocket launch. Around this same time Parsons was chosen by Aleister Crowley to lead the California branch of the O.T.O. at the Agapé Lodge.”

From our previous researches, we learned that Gerald Heard entered the Canyon in 1937 with his platonic life mate, Plantagenet offspring,
Christopher William Graham Wood. We also learned that the Aldous Huxleys came with them, who presumably either lived in the Canyon with Heard, or visited them and the Canyon often. Indications are the by accompanying Heard and Wood to California, they had the open door of participation in the activities and ferment there.

Huxley wrote quite a number of well known books, one of which was “Doors of Perception.” According to Cirucci, the title of the book was used to give Jim Morrison’s band its name, “The Doors.” He further notes that cultural icons like Aldus Huxley and Timothy Leary encouraged Americans to “turn on, tune in, drop out” with LSD.
http://johnnycirucci.com/holly-and-laurel/

A notable resident in the 1930s was horror movie star, Boris Karloff.

One of the residents of the Canyon in the ‘40s was Robert A. Heinlein. He had been in the navy, and later became a member of the
Another set of residents in later years also honored his literary work. “The 1967 Crosby, Stills & Nash song “Triad” was a Heinlein tribute.”

She eats her second sammich, and finds that some kind FReeQ has tucked some apple slices and several Qookies in her pack as well. After resting a bit, she gets up and drives on. Will this tunnel never end?*

*After texokie walks a few paces, the batteries in her flashlight begin to flicker. She changes them out and proceeds. It was a good thing, because there are a lot of loose stones here to deal with. She doesn’t want to sprain her ankle and have to beg rescue*

In the 1950s luminaries inhabiting space in Laurel Canyon included Leslie Caron, Chuck Conners, Errol Flynn. These would be worthwhile researching, but for the scope of this paper, we will set them aside.

*texokie gets out the blue spray and makes some more “return to me” marks on the walls of the tunnel*

Most are familiar with many of the 1960s and 70s residents by now, such as members of many of the break-out bands of the time, Byrds, Monkees, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash, to name some. Their stories are amply covered in the McGowan source previously referenced. And of course events involving the Mansons and the documented CIA and Laurel Canyon connections he and his band possessed are also covered in detail.

Other notable 1970s Laurel Canyon residents are Patty Duke and her neighbor, former Jesuit novitiate, Governor Jerry Brown, as documented on his Wiki page. His dad was a former California governor also.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Brown

The Rolling Stones occupied the Mary Astor house in the 70’s, in which Marilyn Manson lives today. Orson Welles was a 1970s Laurel Canyon neighbor.

In addition to homes existing in Laurel Canyon, there was also a major secret film studio whose existence was kept secret until the 90s, called Lookout Mountain Laboratory. According to Drockton:

“Built in 1941 and nestled in two-and-a-half secluded acres off what is now Wonderland Park Avenue, the installation was hidden from view and surrounded by an electrified fence. By 1947, the facility featured a fully operational movie studio. In fact, it is claimed that it was perhaps the world’s only completely self-contained movie studio. With 100,000 square feet of floor space, the covert studio included sound stages, screening rooms, film processing labs, editing facilities, an animation department, and seventeen climate-controlled film vaults. It also had underground parking, a helicopter pad and a bomb shelter.”

Over its lifetime, the studio produced some 19,000 classified motion pictures – more than all the Hollywood studios combined (which I guess makes Laurel Canyon the real ‘motion picture capital of the world’). Officially, the facility was run by the U.S. Air Force and did nothing more nefarious than process AEC footage of atomic and nuclear bomb tests.

The studio, however, was clearly equipped to do far more than just process film. There are indications that Lookout Mountain Laboratory had an advanced research and development department that was on the cutting edge of new film technologies. Such technological advances as 3-D effects were apparently first developed at the Laurel Canyon site.

And Hollywood luminaries like John Ford, Jimmy Stewart, Howard Hawks, Ronald Reagan, Bing Crosby, Walt Disney and Marilyn Monroe were given clearance to work at the facility on undisclosed projects. There is no indication that any of them ever spoke of their work at the clandestine studio….”

Some of the indications from my cited sources are that those facilities could have been tied in with the MKUltra research and activities. I am certain that other FReeQs who have already confirmed this will say so, but for integrity’s sake, I did not see the documentation to nail that down - although I believe it exists, and is probably more than just speculation. But I cannot say it by my own shallow research on this deep topic at this time that it is a documented fact.

STEVE ALLEN PART SIX

While Steve Allen was not a resident of Laurel Canyon, he had some connections to several of the people who lived there. We saw previously that Aleister Crowley settled here in 1933.

The person who introduced Allen to LSD, Gerald Heard, lived in Laurel Canyon. Heard also had as a platonic life mate, an individual who had great wealth and Plantagenet bloodline. In addition, Heard was friends with the Huxley family. These Power Elite connected people all arrived in the Canyon in 1937.

This report is not intended to be a detailed history of Laurel Canyon, although it is has been tempting to call upon our guys in the Qanteen for the heavy digging equipment to do just that.

Finding the McGowan and Drockton sources relieved me of that necessity. But for whatever reason, this location seemed to be in the center of much of the California explosion of the era of unrest in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

In this Part, we will revisit Steve Allen, and see what some of his encounters may have been with not only the Laurel Canyon people, but also the entire gamut of Hollywood and the Music and Entertainment industry.

One of the residents of Laurel Canyon, Vito Paulekas had a dance studio at which Steve Allen matriculated, but in so far as I have been able to find, not caught up in any scandal by the association:

“According to most accounts, it wasn’t really the Mayan-tomb decor of the studio that many of the matrons found so exciting, but rather Vito’s reportedly insatiable sexual appetite and John Holmesian physique. In any event, Vito’s students also apparently included such Hollywood luminaries as Jonathon Winters, Mickey Rooney and Steve Allen. Nevertheless, though Paulekas claimed to be a serious artist (a painter, poet, dancer and photographer, in addition to a sculptor), there is scant evidence that I have seen that supports such claims (I am not, however, the most objective of art critics, as I am, as best I can determine, apparently not cultured enough to ‘get’ the majority of what passes for art).”

According to this same source, Vito was involved in quite a (to me) distressing scandal regarding the death of his son:
http://centerforaninformedamerica.com/inside-the-lc-the-strange-but-mostly-true-story-of-laurel-canyon-and-the-birth-of-the-hippie-generation-part-v/

Hollywood Movie Factotem/ Airplane Engineer/ Onetime Jack Parsons Boss, Howard Hughes, formed a nuclear disarmament organization. Steve Allen and friend Jack Ryan donated to it.
“Both Meier and Hughes were proponents of nuclear disarmament. Meier became a director of an anti-nuclear activist group “Fund For Survival”. Hughes donated $$ to it. Also members were Steve Allen and actor Robert Ryan. The fund wanted to see a controlled dismantling by the United Nations.”

http://www.constantinereport.com/outline-age-secrets-conspiracy-toppled-richard-nixon-hidden-death-howard-hughes-gerald-bellett/

Ryan and Allen also were “founding co-chairs of The Committee for a SANE Nuclear Policy’s Hollywood chapter.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Ryan

As an entertainment mogul, he was beholden to his bosses, and was known for giving many of the young people and bands an introductory and national platform on his television shows. The veterans of show biz also appeared frequently as well.

Frank Zappa seems appeared on his show - and played a bicycle:

*Note: Allen interviewed Norman Vincent Peale at about the time he was influencing a young Donald J. Trump. - Indirect connection between our POTUS and Steve Allen

He also hired some notables to work with him on his own creations:
Roseanna Vitro, scat singer was invited to perform some of Allen’s compositions:
“A popular bop and swing stylist, she is known for her renditions of sultry ballads as well as for her scat singing. Renowned for her versatility, she easily commands audience attention when belting out a rousing roof-raiser of a song. Mentored as an aspiring singer by Arnett Cobb, Vitro toured with Lionel Hampton in the 1980s, and in 1986 she was invited by radio and television personality Steve Allen to record a collection of his songs.”

I was wondering what he did during the WWII years caused me to re-examine what his Wiki page said. He trained for the infantry and served the war domestically at Camp Roberts.

That made knowing a little more about Camp Roberts important to me.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/561vrb/what_was_boot_campmilitary_training_like_during/Training and Shipping Out:
Training and Shipping Out:
“…After a wait due to the finalization of classification, the men, divided into groups and led by an officer, received their camp assignments. For travel, an allotment of money was given, and the men set out all across the country to their assignments; one of the infantry replacement training centers (IRTCs) like Camp Wolters or Camp Wheeler; the infantry and field artillery replacement training center at Camp Roberts; the tank destroyer training and replacement center at Camp Hood; the armored force training and replacement center at Fort Knox. Once the men arrived at their new camp, they were quarantined for 72 hours and received another “short arm” inspection.”

It was mobilization and training camp.
https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/facility/camp-ww2.htm

It was abandoned after the war, and has now a refurbishment and even a museum there now. Here is a comment from a visitor:

https://www.yelp.com/biz/camp-roberts-san-miguel?adjust_creative=dWJMtmYxpd5N5yoyzSuhtA&utm_campaign=yelp_api&utm_medium=api_v2_business&utm_source=dWJMtmYxpd5N5yoyzSuhtA&hrid=2AVHa4tVb5GQiFRH5Yxsmg

3/27/2013
“Never even heard of Camp Roberts until I came here for WAREX. It’s got some WWII barracks-no exaggeration. Back in WWII they kept German and Italian POWs.

So the camp itself isn’t in the greatest shape. There are some condemned buildings and the post doesn’t get enough money to destroy those buildings. But the scenery is pretty nice. There are some really nice run routes here. Some hills, not too bad. The DFAC is run by contractors and the head cook is pretty serious about the food. I actually had mash potatoes with rosemary in it! It was pretty good for Army mash potatoes.

So what is really cool here. The museum. It’s only open on Tuesdays and Saturdays but you should really try to check it out. I was amazed at the history of Camp Roberts. There’s a lot of history here. And I mean a lot. This is how I knew about the German and Italian soldiers. Oh and all the vineyards in the area? It’s because enough of those Italian POWs loved it enough to stay here in the States.”

It is interesting to speculate what Allen’s service might have been. Was he a typist? Trainer of some kind? Was he a prison guard? Or did he have assignments at Lookout Mountain? I do not expect to ever know if he worked there, unless perhaps one day the whole thing really is laid bare.

As this goes to press, I do not have permission to give public credit to the FReeQ who shared with us this wonderful gem. It was a bunny hole in itself finding them. Our FRiend recalled the “Happy Jack fishery” phrase in connection with them and found this link:

https://louisproyect.org/2016/03/17/the-happy-jack-fish-hatchery-papers-dalton-trumbo-versus-steve-allen/

It is a series of letters which appears in Esquire magazine in which Steve Allen seeks to refute the political positions of a fellow named Dalton Trumbo.

I THANK YOU, MY FRIEND FOR THROWING THAT OVER THE TRANSOM!

The consensus from many FReeQs who have commented on this series about Steve Allen, seems to be that he was basically a decent, though perhaps in some areas, a deluded man. He was very human, and was indeed a self-described “humanist.” I hold that vision of him as being basically decent, and marvel at the pressures that had to be on him being in the Hollywood Entertainment Machinery… and yet still having a very graceful way of reaching us heart to heart with his immense sense of humor and independent perspective.
