Manafort’s security is being held in solitary confinement. I wonder what this means. Does it mean he’s in an isolated area where he doesn’t engage with the prison population? Or does it mean he’s in the SHU, the Security Housing Unit also known as The Hole? Because that would be really bad.

Their sense of desperation is only outweighed by their (knowing but ignorant) denial.
I did look up the conditions of Manafort. He’s in a restricted area designed for high profile (political) prisoners. He was up in or near Maryland at a place where he was allowed to keep his phone and laptop, but the new place in Washington proper doesn’t allow any of that, but it doesn’t sound like he’s in “the hole”.
I wonder if he’s there for his protection from the rest of the inmates. Or whomever.
