No civil war is likely to take place... The reason is racial demographics and obesity.
In 2018 the US has approximately 327 million people. In 1980 the US had approximately 226 million people. The percentage of non-Spanish speaking white people in 1980 was approximately 90%. or 203 million. The percentage of non-Spanish speaking white people in the US in 2018 is 63% or 206 million. The birthrate of white people in the US is less than replacement value. White people of child bearing age in this country have been convinced not to reproduce in large enough numbers to replace those who die. Basically all of the population increase in the US since 1980 has been from immigrants and minorities.
The median age of non-Spanish speaking white people in this country is now 38 years; in 1980 it was 30. White people in the US will have gone from approximately 90% in 1980 to less than half by 2050. And the median age of white people will be in the mid 40s. Has anyone looked around lately at what the average 40 something year old looks like? 70% of Americans are overweight by the time they reach 20. By the time Americans reach 40, the obesity rate has now become astounding. People in foreign countries typically identify American tourists not by the color of our skin but by how fat we are.
So how are a bunch of fatties that make up less than half the population going to win the next civil war? It doesn’t seem likely. We are more likely to be like the proverbial frogs in a pot on the stove.
Incidentally, birthrate predictions, as most demographic predictions of future trends, almost never prove accurate. Reality can turn on a dime as it were.
I wonder if any other country in history has so voluntarily changed its demographic alignment?

Not only that, but our poorest people are the MOST likely to be obese! We have the fattest most entertained poor people in the history of the earth, it’s hard for me to imagine widespread sustained civil unrest while these conditions persist. The poorest people sure weren’t the fattest during the Civil War.
Also, the number of eligible voters that have chosen not to vote have outnumbered any single political party for 100+ years. If things were so bad, I would figure more would deign to vote about it before they take to the streets. The folks that care about politics tend to vastly overestimate the number of people who care about it like they do.

I would bet money the illegals and most of those of illegal parents that were only born here, not feeling like Americans- would flee out of here like their hair was on fire. They would not be here if they were fighters, those here are those that fled their own country when things got tough.
